HDMIKey for PlayStation 2 . Is It Possible ? Lets find out.

Hello Everyone. We all like our ps2, and I think that everyone would like to play in nice and progressive scan picture on TV-set.

I think a lot of us have heard about such thing:

Yes you are right---it is HDMI adapter for Wii.

As you can see on video----HDMIKey improves picture quality because we all know That analog types of signals are tend to get distorted because of analog nature---it is just impossible to get rid of ghosting.
Even well shielded cable not always can produce good results.

HDMIKey can accept 480i and 480p and convert it to 480p -720p 1080p.

Actually it does good work because people notice that sharpness of picture is better than when using usual component cables.

you can ask me what Wii has in common with PS2. And I will answer you that almost nothing.

But, a lot of experts said that Wii and PS2 have almost the same power resources ---and Video-output gives the same resolution ---480i or 480p.

So practically we have in terms of productivity almost the same systems, the only difference is that we can natively output 480p without any help on Wii.

I have got some idea.

Devs can make some money on it---and I think a lot---150 million ps2s were sold.
And we can enjoy our ps2 to be connected with help of HDMIKey to HDTV through HDMI Cable---what do you think about such idea???

Can you imagine it--ps2 sends 480i/480p/576i to HDMIKey for PlayStation2 ---and HDMIKey sends to TV--pure digital 480p/576p/720p/1080p signal ....
Of course I know that it wont be real 1080p signal---but I am sure 100% ---after I watched video on YouTube about Wii---that it will sharpen picture a lot.

Also we wont have any more ghosting when using component cables---because we wont have to use component cables any more-----HDMIKey for PS2 will convert Y Pb Pr Analog to Y Pb Pr Digital Signal.

Would be nice to hear your feedback. What do you think about it all? If you think that the Idea is really cool---then please contact the manufacturer and ask him to produce HDMIKey for PS2.....

The only question is:

Where to buy such thing ? And how many does it cost ?

Is it compatible with PAL and NTSC versions of PS2 ?

Is it compatible with Slim PS2--like it wont stop us from accessing Optical sound output at the rear part of console ? Because it looks that it only compatible with Fat model of ps2--I mean it can work with Slim--but I think that it wont be possible to access Optical Sound Output.

Anyway--would be nice to get hand on one of such devices to test it.

Guys Caution There are three Generations of this device ----Do not buy first Generation ----Buy Second or Third Generation of this Device

I will explain to you. There are three Generations .

1. Magrex MG 3000 ---it is simple A/D Converter, it can work only on TV which supports interlace digital signal over HDMI. So it wont work if you connect it to your Monitor through HDMI or DVI---do not buy it.

If you type on Ebay phrase PS2 HDMI you will find devices which are called PS2 to HDMI----this is Second generations of this device. But be carefull---you have to be sure that it has Upscale Function built in ---It has to have built in Upscale function-----in other words it has to receive 480i/480p/576i and upscale it to 1080p.
You have to be sure about it---otherwise you will get picture only on TV , but none on Monitor.

And Finally there is some Third Generations of this Device.

It is called PS2 to HDMI 1080p 3rd Generation HDMI/DVI
