Two news about OPL_GSM and a help request from mine...
Recently I've been focusing on a new approach for installing and enabling GSM core from OPL GUI even on Apps and Exit menus and with a "zero" extra footprint on OPL ee_core side (different from the current approach made on OPL644GSM037), which could lead us to the same game compatibility level for OPL standalone and OPLGSM.
The good news: I got it. This means you can enable GSM on OPL's Display Settings menu, and benefit from enabling enforced vmodes not only on Game , but also on Apps and on Exit menus.
The bad news: It's still unstable, because I need to discover how to make the proper code for flushing (finishing) all OPL GUI deferred io operations before enabling GSM. I've managed a turnaround for this by putting some "LOG" messages and disabling vsync option from Display Settings menu, but this isn't the way things should be done... We shouldt complete and delete remaining OPL threads and handlers before enabling GSM... So, if someone can help me on this, please contact me by PM, we can work in parallel until find the "cure"... Because when I accomplish this task, I believe it'll be mature enough to merge (along with other minor fixes) to the ifcaro's main open-ps2-loader repo.
At last but not at least... Long live for PS2!
I still would not mind your dirty code to experiment :D
My code is currently ugly and unstable (sometimes I got BSOD instead of enforced vmode)... So let me at least change it to ugly and stable first... ;-)
Ok will try to be patient :D
Not sure if I can wait to long :p
Joke BTW
As you know I can't help with code-related questions, I just wanted to say: Sounds great, good work! I wish you luck/success fixing the remaing problems :)
Good news:
My OPL651GSM037 code is ugly and stable.
Bad news:
The same private version can't survive after IGR combo.
For God's sake...
I've been trying solve this almost every day at night without success.
I wish I could have a working EE SIO (Emotion Engine Serial Input Output) cable based on complete schematics for debugging on my Slimline SCPH-70012.
I could deliver much more with it... :-(....

Hi doctorxyz,
Congrats on the release. Does this release have a higher compatibility rate?
Will some games that bsod with previous opl+gsm release, now display in 480p?
I'm asking because I have a huge list of games that bsod. I'll try if you think it is a good idea.
I haven't had time to play... But I know what you means. No, this one wouldn't increase compatibility for your stating above.
However, right after concluding this release I finally could focus on the remaining and unexplored GS registers.
I wish I could work and earn money with PS2 development (it would give me pleasure and money - on this order), however this isn't true, my real life demands me a lot and homebrew is just a hobby for free.
I know what you mean, well from a testers point of view. The hours I put in testing games in hdxploder, that ps2480force hex fix, gsm and opl+gsm, all sorts of combo's. So many hours. It would be great to get paid for it. But your work is much more impressive of course. Thanks without you there would be nothing to test
