A Bit of an Odd Scenario
I've got component cables for my PS2 that I never use, and the reason is; My screen has a stupidly red tint.
My HDTV doesn't have RGB options in the menu, either, so I was wondering if GSMS is able to correct this somehow.
It's not the TV itself as my other consoles look perfect via component, it's most likely my cables. However, I'd hope that there's a way to remedy this problem before I sink another 10$ into a new cable.
Go to the Playstation 2 system configuration screen and change the video setting from RGB to Y Pb Pr.

Even a Playstation 3 component cable works too, since both consoles share the same video connections (With the exception of the HDMI-out on the Playstation 3).
Ran into the exact same problem last week, but I kept getting a blue or red tint out of a 40" Sanyo. Fought with it for about an hour before I remembered that option. Having to slither back to my spider hole, hook the PS2 back to S-Video long enough to change that stupid setting, then sashay back to the 40" inch Sanyo was almost not worth it ... but damn did Suikoden 5 look great at 720p. Grainy as hell, but acceptable. MK Argme ... bah MK Trilogy 2 ... had an annoying diamond-shaped checkerboard pattern whenever the screen faded to black though ...
