It's there all the time. The file is simply both hidden and marked as windows system protected file. Just open any explorer window, hit left alt, select tools, folder options, check "show hidden files" and then uncheck "hide protected system files"... Or open command line and type "attrib -h -s path_to_your_file".

Why not try to dump with memdump?

Make sure to use usb port closest to on button. Dump flash with X button.

Or just google "hidden files osx" and use the method for your osx version to get finder to show all files...
