    Hi,

I did format a HDD via Debug settings , when formating is complete my HDD is not showing on the XMB!

If I plug it back into my pc and lunched ps3gen I can see the 4 partions it's all good but I want to dedictae a certain space as fat23 to install pkgs from the same HDD.

shaitan please clearify how can I have other partions (fat32) on the same HDD I formatted from debug settings.

You can do this I have but it requires HEX editing the hard drive I also had Aldostools incorporate into Bdemupartitionstool, although I havent used it to do that so since its still being tested, I can tell you how to do it via hex.

get WinHex its free (better than other hex editing programs for hard drive hex editing)

Format drive on ps3 for BDEMU if havent already then plug drive into PC

Open winhex select tools.Open Disk then select your BDEMU drive (make sure to pick the right drive!)

select navigation go to offset, type in 1CA

Open windows calculator, under view pick programmer choose dec on left not hex yet

Since I made my BDEMU partition 600GB my drive is 1TB so that roughly leaves 400GB of unallocated space for FAT32 or NTFS (although the drive needed 60 or so gigs for itself and is normal for bigger drives)

600GB=644245094400 bytes (to convert GB to bytes ex: 600*1024*1024*1024)

644245094400/512=1258291200 sectors (divide partition bytes by 512 to get number of sectors)

1258291200sectors in hex is 4B 00 00 00 (change calculator from dec to hex leaving sector amount in calculator to see your sector value in hex)

reverse this hex number in pairs 00 00 00 4B
    (When i say reverse NOT 12 34 56 78=87 65 43 21; DO 12 34 56=78 56 34 12

Put this hex amount in place of whats at 1CA-1CD and save

You can now open a partitions manager EaseUS (also free) and see the unallocated space and create a FAT32, NTFS or whatever partition there.
(I tried windows disk manager and it could detect the unallocated partition, but EaseUS detected it)

If anybody who uses this picks the wrong drive or otherwise screws up i take no responsibility

Well if you tell me the size BDEMU partion size you want I can give you the number you need to put in offset
however youll have to add the FAT32 or whatever partition to the unallocated space yourself

Remember if you have say a 1tb total sized drive and want a 600GB BDEMU partition that will leave less than 400GB for fat32 (because drive needs to keep some space for itself)

As a matter of fact I got a 2tb harddrive. I want 1tera for ps3gen and the other 1 tera for fat32. Yes i would like to have the numbers for offset.

I have read the method a couple of times. I understood everyhting till the reversing proccess. After i reverser the numbers what should i do.

    im kinda lost here.

Ive added a fat23 partiton once before, using partion manager ease wont be a problem.

    Thanks

In hex editor go to OFFSET 1CA on BDEMU drive and replace the value there with 00 00 00 80 and then save.

This will make BDEMU partition 1TB however unallocated space for FAT32 will be smaller because drive reserves space.

(If you want them to almost exactly match then you'd have to do the above method first figure out how much space hard drive is keeping then subtract that value from 1TB and make that the new BDEMU partition value.)

If you dont understand still ill take some screenshots (but id prefer not to hahahaah )

    (1TB partition size=1024GB*1024*1024*1024=1099511627776 bytes

    1099511627776 bytes/512 bytes per sector=2147483648 sectors

    2147483648 sectors in hex is 80 00 00 00

    reversed in pairs 00 00 00 80)
