If you use the DEX BDEMU to launch them then yes, all games will work discless. But it won't magically make games run from multiman work discless.

EDIT: I should note that if you have BDEMU set up and you have a ps3gen game backup on a USB drive inserted into the PS3 then you can use multiman to play any of your 3.55 or below multiman games discless. But simply having a DEX console without BDEMU active won't make games run from multiman work discless.

Will homebrew (Showtime, Multiman and .pkg installed games, viz. GOW-Chains of Olympus, Angry birds, etc) work on DEX consoles? (I hope not but needed confirmation. I haven't changed to DEX yet but planning)

Also, is there a safe way found to go DEX->CEX->CFW?

at this point it doesn't really matter at all, they have no big differences and I don't think there are any games out currently that requires 4.20 yet.

there are many guides available for doing that and as long as you follow them very carefully and you read everything in the guide before you try it on your PS3 then you should be pretty safe.

NOTE: I want to note the fact that I have heard a lot of people say that they lost the ability to play bluray movies and DVD's after converting their consoles to DEX, and converting the console back to CEX doesn't seem to solve the issue. So keep that in mind if you frequently use your PS3 for Bluray / DVD playback.

I heard Bahumatlord say; once going back to CEX, the BD needs to re-marry. Guess because once loosing the link on DEX it won't automatically regain going back to CEX, so had to remarry. I believe him but someone can re-validate it, it will be good. Nevertheless, I do not use BD discs to play movies. I use dlna to stream media from my PC.

yeah I heard about the need to remarry the BD drive as well, but since I have not heard from anybody that has actually attempted to do that, I decided to not include it in my comment. And I don't really use my PS3 much for BluRay / DVD playback either so it doesn't matter too much to me, but yeah it would be nice if somebody would verify that remarrying the BD drive works.

Some dev need to reverse engineer the Official DEX FW source code and find out why BD/DVD playback stops working and then fix it !
(easier said than done, LOL)

Can you put the original/stock FW version the game released on just next to the Game ID in the grid so that it is quick and easy to spot what games came up with 3.55+ versions and that now they are working? That way, I'll and am sure many others would quickly know how many newer games (3.55+) are working.

I'm talking about quick statistics you know and that will really help many and drive many (IN or OUT) into CEX/DEX business.

I'm not able to format my USB key (8GB) with ps3gen. When I go into Command -> BD Emulator HDD utility ... -> select my drive and press Format HDD for BD Emulator ... -> asks for confirmation -> Yes - > gives error "Format failed. Use other tool.(5)
