cex to dex help

I'm actually going dex to cex but figured Id title the thread that...

I should have asked before attempting anything, I'm a noob at this... read so many threads on dex to cex and confused myself but heres what i did maybe someone can help

I bricked after flashing with mm and going back to xmb to power off after flash.
was on 3.55 dex ofw before attempting this.

This is where I'm really not sure if I even flashed the correct file?
found my dex eido norbin but no cex eido norbin
searched online about this
found a thread on dex to cex convert and someone couldnt find their cex eido norbin but found a file named (this is my file but it was the same just different numbers) 20120911-040632-FLASH-NOR-FW3.55 NORBIN they were told to just rename it to cex eido norbin
So i did that.

on my pc i found three 16mb norbin files named 20120911-040632-FLASH-NOR-FW3.55 NORBIN (but with different numbers for each file) picked one renamed it and put it on my usb
flashed it with MM cex, after done exit out mm, then powered off with controller in XMB, tried to power on and got the fast 10 beep brick.

I know i need an e3 reader for FSM but did i actually flash that correctly? like I said im a total noob so if anyone can help i'd appreciate it.

I believe it said 82 when i flashed that file with mm, does that indicate the file was dex? I'm lost lol...

To fix it you will need a dongle(or other) that supports the PSGrade payload, if you don't have one you'll have to get one from somewhere because there's no software only fix, if you've got one use this tutorial: http://psx-scene.com/forums/f290/fix...-brick-106605/ (Fixing a DEX to CEX semi-brick)

and just to make sure by correct flash, did you mean i'm back to cex?

Yeah that's right it's back to CEX, the 10 beep problem is pretty common. Have you QA Flagged your ps3?

I don't remember if I did, I followed a noob friendly guide, so assume that was one of the first steps but honestly I don't remember.

If you don't remember then you probably didn't because it's not mentioned in many dex guides. When you're console is fixed and you're back on a 3.55 CFW search for a QA Flag guide or ask in the forums and you can check by doing the button combo. It's not in all 4.30 guides but everyone should install it anyway because it prevents most semi-bricks
