CEX - DEX Help! –
I need some help here.
I want to convert my console 3.55 256MB CECHC04 European PS3 console to DEX, I have everything setup, also had a good backup of NAND using progskeet.
Now the problem here is the very first step.
I use multiman 04.04.03 to dump my flash, well it was good after it reach around 50% and a error pop-up shows.
Im currently in REBUG 3.55.2 with v0.7 update. Im clueless here.
Error occurred while accessing data!
Sectors read: 262144
Total sectors: 491008
Do you have 240 mb free on the drive you are dumping to? Multiman only checks if you have 16 mb free, even if you have a nand console.
Thanks for the reply, I only had 256MB Flash Drive (238MB in Windows) maybe that's were the issue. And as you suggested I borrow a 1GB flashdrive to my friend and this time it went success.
I went analyzing the NAND dump on this, but analyzing it, there's somethings wrong. Im validating my NAND dump if it's good or bad. But the weird thing on this is that, I get the offset that NOR had in my NAND, >> ps3devwiki[dot]com/wiki/Flash
I was expecting the FACE0FFF-DEADBEEF value on offset 0x0040010 although I found it on 0x000010 whereis its the offset for NOR. I also realized that the bootloader is not included on the dump.
Tried redumping it 10x but still same results and same md5 on NAND dumps
If you cant get it working using your dump, try using jaicrab's preloader for dumping and flashing. I did this earlier today on 355OtherOS++ and used Naehrwert's tool by downgrading to 3.41.3 Rebug. What I dont understand though is why you're using multiman when you have a progskeet.
That's normal. My dump is the same, and i had no trouble converting to dex.

thanks for that, I also dig a little more about it in ps3devwiki and read about this offset for a about an hour or two, it seems that LV2/GameOS is not capable of dumping bootloader because HV is masking it, thus it's not included in the dump.
Currently on the way downloading the Linux kernel now and prepare for separate 20GB SATA 2.5HDD since I dont want to loose all my data on it.
You can just install linux to a usb drive, and you won't need to reformat.
I'm not sure why the guides are even saying to install it to the internal hdd. It's needlessly complicated.
im just going to follow the guide just to be safe. and it's already on installation on my ps3, talking a little while installing it but it should be done any time soon. this time, my task is to grab the keys.
any idea to verify if my keys were valid or not?
Everything will fail if the keys aren't valid.
oh god, I hope lady luck is on my side.
