Great!!! Can't wait for your altered guide. As this one is somewhat confusing. Hopefully your newer guide will be easier to understand!!! Especially if you don't want to format the internal HDD.
Which guide is best to use? This deank guide or the fast and easy guide.
Fast & easy if you have multiport router / switch or can establish PC-PS3 direct connection (about the latter, I still don't know if the method posted in some other thread works), if not - then this one, but I think it's better to modify it a bit to install Linux on external usb drive so that formatting internal hdd wouldn't be neccessary.
I'm still working on posting a how-to from usb. I got busy over the weekend. I need to decide the best way to explain partitioning to people that may have never done it before. I use Paragon Hard drive manager which is a paid program, but I know a lot of people use EaseUS' tool since it's free. What do you guys think of it? You guys think it's simple enough for everyone?
Has anyone with a nand used this guide I haven't seen anyone confirm that they did it yet... thanks
I successfully dumped flash of my nor ps3 fat using multiman but I can't see any dump file on my usb drive both on mac and pc, I can see it just on mmOS. Please help I even didn't understand how to dex it using c2d on pc, I'm stuck here![]()
You can't see it because it's marked as a hidden system file. On your pc if you go to command prompt to where the file is type attrib (name of file) -h -s -r. If you don't know how to do that, then you should be able to ftp the file to your pc from your ps3 and it will not keep those attributes
Done it easily, without using cmd. Copy and paste whole usb thumb with .norbin/.nandbin on your pc wherever you want and you should see it (working on Mac/PC). Then I used PS3Tools on Mac to norunpack it and it worked just great. Let's go ahead.![]()
