Stuck again, can't install OTHEROS-22GB.PUP. It says "no applicable update data was found", my thumb is fat32 and the path is correct as I downloaded your "all-in-one" pack and it was already in it. Any suggestion? Thanks for the patience. :facepalm:

Quite new to Dex conversion, and have not played with Multiman alot , just as backup manager.
I am lost on the steps of how to backup nor on multiman - mmOS->Select any file->Open in HEX viewer->[SELECT]->[START]->DUMP LV2(NO)->DUMP LV1(NO)->DUMP FLASH(YES)
I have tried numerous menus buttons etc , but no success . I am on latest version Multiman and Firmware 3.55.
Any help would be great. Maybe pictures lol.

Dumping the flash memory of your PS3 using multiman is pretty easy but I'll show you with pictures like you suggested.Quote:

Then press triangle to bring up the game settings menu.

Then select the “File Manager / mmOS” option
this will bring you to mmOS which is basically a file manager designed to look like the desktop of a normal computer.
MmOS will automatically open up the folder of the game you selected when you pressed triangle earlier in the tutorial.
Now select any file (literally any file will work as long as it is a file and not a folder) and press X on it.

In this image I selected the first file I saw, now when you have selected the file by pressing x, press circle to bring up the file menu.

This will bring up a menu with a couple of choices, select the “Open in HEX Viewer” option.
That will bring up a windows looking like this:

now press select and the windows will change to this:

then press the start button.
Pressing the start button will bring up this prompt, select “No”.

after selecting no you will get this prompt, select “No” again.

Mutliman will now save a copy of your flash on your USB Stick. And its as simple as that.
Hi, I'm new to the scene and don't know much. I recently bought RockSmith hoping I could play it on a jailbrake and found out it's 3.7 and 3.55 CFW won't run it. That was before I put 3.55 CFW kmaew on. So after searching a few days the good new Duplex was able to get it to work on 4.21. Long story short, only DEX 4.21 will run it. So I ended up trying to read about Cx2Dx.

If linux was installed on a usb drive my assumption is that if you removed it it wouldn't work anymore and might brick the PS3, right? The other issue with running it on usb is that if you had friends over who wanted to play (say fighting games suchs as SF3, Tekken, DOA and the like) you wouldn't have the extra USB port to plug in the 2nd controller. I'm still interested in installing on USB since it would probably be the easier (if not more convenient path). Question is after reading through the this thread, are we still able to play 3.55 Fix Games with the 4.21 Dex or would we have to downgrade back to 3.55 Dex and convert back to 3.55 Cex?
All the steps are quite intimidating but I'll be following them and not cross my fingers. If I haven't already, a big thanks to you and every one who's contributed to this educational activity.

Thanks pink! I'm still hesitant on converting as some people have noted about semi-bricking while converting back to 3.55(which i read in a how to fix thread by shaitan, you'd need a dongle in order to do that) I am still reading up when I have the time to get things planned out. (using a USB or not, connecting to PC to run backups, changing the number of game limitations and partition size, etc...)
Trying to read through threads to see pro and con about converting to DEX. With rumors of a 4.21 CFW floating around it's somewhat holding me back from finding the unicorns.
(btw, what is being referred as unicorns?) :DD
Getting things planned out is a very good idea thumps up on that. The semi-brick can be a problem but with a dongle or any device to get into factory service mode it's an easy fix. Lol I'm not sure what's really up with "unicorns" but it's sticks out and people remember it so makes it easy to point someone to the info.
