I have Comcast internet, a ps3 NOR slim on 3.41MFW (made with mfwbulider0.2) connected wirelessly to the router, and a need to play Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm Generations (Birthday Gift)

I followed the bottom sticky in this sub forum("CEX2DEX, Fast and easy" -by DDay) to the letter, and it has worked fine thus far. That is, up until-
When it is back in XMB check your PS3 IP and then launch asbestos_ldr
    On PC:
Start a cmd window and cd to your dump_rootkey folder
    Issue command; dump_rootkey 192 . 168 . * . *
    *=PS3 ip
    Unicorns! (FINALLY!)
I launched the asbestos_ldr on my ps3 (Causing the screen to go black, the hard disc light to flicker for a few brief moments, and the network icon to flicker and then stay on) ,
    opened cmd prompt,
    typed "cd C : \dump_rootkey",
    then "dump_rootkey 10 . 0 . 0 . 11".
    Once I type this,
    the prompt states:
    [info] connecting to10 . 0 . 0 . 11 ... ok.
and then it just hangs. I let it sit for an hour, and it still didn't do anything.

Realizing something glitched, I closed out the window, and tried turning the ps3 off with the power button on the front. It didn't respond at all, So I was forced to unplug it from the back. Plugging it back in and powering it back on I had no errors, but It sounded like the Bluray drive was.. clicking? I had a disc in (sports champions) so that may have caused the clicking.

I didn't get any unicorns, nor did I recieve the eid_root_key . bin file.

Figuring there was something wrong with my wifi, I tried the other idea, listed as requirement C on the guide. I connected my ps3 to my laptop with an ethernet cable, followed all the instructions, and the ps3 got an IP address but failed to connect to the internet. Running the asbestos_ldr again, I still ended up with the same error.

I searched and searched with Google and the forum's search button but have came to no avail, so if there is a guide to my particular problem, I sincerely apologize, but honestly just didn't see it

P.S. I hate the filters for posting links and such. I had to space out every file extension and or IP address mention, meh Sorry if the spaces annoy you.

do you know how to network your ps3 to your pc with just an ethernet? its pretty simple. your ps3 ip should be your pc's default gateway and first dns and vice versa. set everything up right and try again.

manually set everything up. dont rely on automatic settings. you dont need to connect to the internet, you just need to be able to network your ps3 to your pc.

if your using 10.0.0.1 as your ip then everything must be set to work with that. you cannot use a 255.0.0.0 subent with a 255.255.255.0 subnet, it will never work. check all your configurations in your adapter settings, on the ps3, and the pc.. the pc MUST point to the ps3 and the ps3 MUST point to the pc.

You should use wired connection - first and most important part. Second - install yourself tinyDHCP - this will allow you to make direct connection to your PS3. Figure this: once asbestOS is loaded, it ignores XMB network settings and sends DHCP discovery. Connect your PS3 directly to computer with tinyDHCP installed, start up your tinyDHCP, asbestOS, open tinyDHCP window and see what IP was aligned to your PS3. Use it with tool provided and you're done. Good luck.
And another one - your 3.41 FW could be patched in some different manner than required, so just flash 3.41 provided by Hermes - it definitely gets job done.

    1: Wired connection ONLY
    2: I hope you type "dump_rootkey 10.0.0.11" and not with spaces like you posted "dump_rootkey 10 . 0 . 0 . 11"

No0bZiLLa, yes. GameOS is fully wiped out with asbestOS, so settings are reinitializes. And the only option available without recompiling asbest itself is DHCP.

So any setup I do beforehand on the ps3 will be overridden with asbestOS?

Don't know what you mean by here... Is a window supposed to pop up? because one does not...

think you could link me to a copy of Hermes's CFW? That might be why I keep glitching out, it's possible the MFW i made just won't do it.

Firmware is NOT the issue, Period!!!

I might come across rude, but if basic networking cant be done by you, maybe CEX2DEX is not a think you should do. At least in itīs current form...

All these questions are answered in the guide, with tftd links/guides, and if you cant connect to the PS3, with the exact same tools as us others, then itīs on your end and changing fw etc etc wont change the fact that you need the network up and running before anything else can be done...
