Is there any way to override the vanilla textures in skyrim? I'm on 1.05 and have tried adding the .dds/.nif files in UPDATE.BSA and tried creating a new .BSA file and adding that to sResourceArchiveList. The meshes load fine, but never the textures. I've also tried just sticking the .nif/.dds in /dev_usb/GAMES/BLUS30778/PS3_GAME/DATA/MESHES and ../DATA/TEXTURES. Any help or is this a lost cause?

Seems I have answered my own question. The problem is ps3 (and xbox360 for that matter) uses .DDX files, not .DDS files. Seems this has been a problem which also occurred with fallout 3 and oblivion. Been searching and there doesn't seem to be any way to convert .DDS files into .DDX files..... pity.

I have failed to get new textures to load with new races (they appear in wireframe with .DDS, and as a solid color if I change extension to .DDX) and with trying to override SKYRIM - TEXTURES.BSA (appear as vanilla with .DDS, and solid color with extension of .DDX). Which kinds of things can one get .DDS files to work for?

I took a look at the tower mod... maybe .DDS only works with 2d objects?

The Siren Race at Skyrim Nexus - Skyrim mods and community is the new race I was trying to add, but I did it by creating a .BSA with the textures/meshes and sticking that along with the .esp and .esm in the disc backup DATA directory. Oh and adding them to the .ini file.

I try to override the TEXTURES.BSA by creating a new .BSA and sticking that in the DATA directory and .ini, not by changing it (way too damn big lol).

I have the same problem. Tried to do many things, but textures are not working correctly. Did someone find the way to solve it?

Unfortunately no, I have given up hope on getting improved or new textures to work on the ps3.
