Is there a trick to getting new versions to overwrite an existing install? I overwrote the files on my ext. HDD but I don't see any changes to the mod when loading my saved game. I've tried everything I can think of including clearing the cache in MM and I also tried uninstalling from the mod menu but I'm not having any luck, btw the uninstall mod menu has the following options; No, No, No, Yes, No and none of them appear to do anything.
Well... I never tested the uninstall :-p If you still have the power after uniinstall then it isn't working. I have had a problem with an old version sticking in the gamesave before so I always test the mod on a new save now. Try this: remove the mod, load your game, save your game, install the new version, load your game. Anyway, the only visible change is the Items menu is now called Objects. All the other changes should not be saved in the gamesave because they were either in the script file or in the messagebox.swf. Maybe I uploaded the old version, but I don't think I did...

Knowing what I know, I don't think an uninstall for a mod like this is even needed, I added it for professionalism. Anyway, here is how accomplish it manually:
1) Get the load order of Multi-Utility (should be on the info menu if you have a late enough version)
2) Stop the quest XX000D6F
3) Player RemoveSpell XX000D6E
I tried your instructions but Multi-Utility doesn't uninstall...but I am new at this, and could have made a mistake, so here is what I did.
This is the only mod I have installed so load order should be 02, sTestFile2=MULTI-UTILITY.ESP in my INI. (Multi-Utility shows up at the top of page 4 under the info menu)
In the Quest menu I input 02000D6F and get a Quest Menu prompt. The Boolean's are IsActive: 0, IsCompleted: 0, IsRunning: 0, IsStarting: 0, IsStopped: 1, IsStopping: 0, Current Stage: 0
I go into the Actors menu, enter 14 for main character, select RemoveSpell (from Page 2, option 6), enter 02000D6E and exit. Multi-Utility still shows up and can be triggered by R2.
Is this the proper procedure or am I missing something? Thanks!
Ok, so I am absolutely sure I have the most recent files in the data folder on the ext. hdd from the Multi-Utility v6.1 by selyb folder, however, I am still seeing no visible change to the menu (Items changed to Objects). I even tried starting a new game...still the same menu. I then switched back to the original INI file, loaded my save game, confirmed that Multi-Utility wasn't showing up under the Powers menu, saved the game, switched back the modded INI file, re-loaded the game, received a prompt 'Multi-Utility has been added', enabled Multi-Utility from the Powers menu, pressed R2 and I still see the old Main Menu. The Items menu still appears instead of the Objects menu and I can't scroll to the left.
I checked the modified dates for the 6.1 files and the messagebox.swf has a modified date of 1/25, however, the compiled Scripts _sel_MultiUtilQuestScript.pex and _sel_MultiUtilScript.pex have a modified date of 1/24, I'm not sure if that is relevant, just more of an FYI.
Try these. You did the correct procedure so I have no idea why it wouldn't remove the power. In the files I linked, I fixed the scripting for the uninstall command but I still haven't tested it on the 360 (I don't have a PS3).
Thanks! The uninstall worked from the update that you posted in your last reply. However, when re-installing with the new files the messageboxes still appear the same as the 6.0 version, but that's alright, it works.
Quite nice, what you added works fine for my first try, haven't seen any bugs yet.
I just collected the FORMIDs earlier so I can Try more stuff.
I got confused with the Titles like &He[....], anyway I'll get use to it.
also tried adding shouts to the guards, and WHOA! it rocks, I can even delete the floor..
You should not see &He anywhere, Did the bsa I gave you have Interface\Messagebox.swf? If you have this in your data folder from another mod, it stops mine from working correctly.
