this one is possible with fatalities on story mode(replace the nis files! but replace the post ones,not the pre ones,unless you want to get stuck or see the fatality with no camera movements) and fatalities on kahn,and using kintaro to replace his victory and put one of his fatalities in,but i think it has to do with the fatality cinema present in chars,not the fatality itself.
maybe erasing them could disable the black background.

Hi guys im new to the site. Im an MK9 combo artist and im very interested in the work you guys have been doing here. Im not sure if anyone is aware or not, but one of the holly grails of MK9 is to discover each characters "toasty Boost" input commands. To get a chance to do a toasty boost, you first must have "dan (toasty) forden" pop up in the corner of the screen and say "toasty" during a match. When this happens, each character has a secret command they must enter in order to get a toasty boost. The Toasty Boost , if done correctly, gives you a full bar of meter. Their have been a few characters input commands discovered already, but the vast majority of the cast is still unfound.
So far, it seems that the Toasty (Dan Fordens head popping up in the corner of the screen) is random and usually only happens after a player has performed an uppercut. I was wondering if there is any skilled modder out there, who could maybe make dans head pop up in the corner after every uppercut. Change the value from random to always. would anyone know if this is possible?
Also, is it possible for someone to change cyber reptile into grey and black colours , give him smokes moves, intro movie and victory movie? And make him selectable in practise and tag practise modes? Cyber smoke from Ultimate MK3!
tonyt man,i know you from YT you did some vids with the npc trainers for 360(sick montages with classic reptile and smoke!) the toasty boost,i first thank you for giving us some clarification,because i never understood how to do it. now regarding how to get toasty showing up always,well,i believe i have two answers A. use ps3usercheat,discover the value of toasty and enable it to always show up(the most probable way it could occur) but another one that i noticed and what im saying here is mostly theory but B. grab the toasty.mkscriptbinary present in the startup and then modify the value that makes it show up and set it to always(this could be a floating point value disguised as hex most likely) again,B is one that did catch my attention so i'll look into it.
cyber reptile to cyber smoke,no really,only partially via challenge 227,either use ps3usercheat to change the fightstyle of cyber reptile to classic smoke,or grab the towerblock where the challenge is located(cant remember exactly right now) and modify the char value from standard reptile and swap it to npc_classicsmoke(you'll end up disabling one of the challenges due to the excessive char length which overwrites the opponent for the first challenge in that towerblock) best to use ps3usercheat.
Thanks for the reply bro! The toasty hack if it were to work would be amazing. It would make searching for toasty commands much easier and they could be all found within a week! The MK community has been wanting to know what they are since the game came out.
About my vids, I made a whole heap of NPC vids on my xbox using the brienj trainer. I havent touched my xbox in a while cos i recently got a hacked ps3 and have been trying to get as much mods working as possible. im on rebug cfw 3.55 with code unique 2.3.
Im actually in the process of making some new videos and im very interested in your character mods, as well as tetzreps game mods. Both of you as well as lilgrim, rstabbs71 and scorpion2k7 have done some amazing work! The currnet video im working on is a smoke combo video featuring regular smoke, pre patch smoke and npc smoke. I would love to be able to do a cyber smoke as well but it looks as though it wont be possible. I tried tetzrep's challenge tower hack with classic smoke as the style and the grey cyber ninja as the actor, but couldnt get it to work. i couldnt get any challenge tower hack to work for some reason. I got the shang tsung boss morph hack working as well as NPC's during ladder mode, but not challenge tower wich is the one i want most..
I also tried your character mods but couldnt get them to work either. i wasnt sure how to install them properley , i couldnt find any instructions?
Im looking to use some of these mods in up coming vids and im more then happy to give credit to all the modders whose mods i use.. Hopefully it might give you guys some more recognision that you deserve. awesome work!
the instructions are present in some of the modpacks i put up,but here's a copy paste(slightly modified) in case you need some ins.: In order to install this mod,you require MK9 version 1.01 or 1.00,once that's done,put this on dev_hdd0/game/BLUS30522(or BLES01132 if you have the Europe version)/USRDIR/DLC/
(create an extra folder in dlc and put the mods in there)or if you are using the later versions,swap the original sizes from the ps3toc.txt file from the mk9 backup with those from the decompressed files,and then swap the files from the backup with the modded ones.
looks like i wont be able to install them. i have 1.02 and komplete edition only. its a shame, i was looking foward to the pink kintaro and naked kitanna lol.
Btw, have you tinkered around with the toasty boost at all yet?
not yet,but you can install the mods via swapping the files on the backup and then copying the swapped file size and copypasting it on the ps3toc.txt
