folks,something that's going as another article front page,more stuff can be swapped out than what we thought,i you can swap the nis aka non interactive sequences,for instance challenge 300,put kintaro as last opp. and swap the intro with sub zero's fatality,sure the game will stay there forever and sub zero wont show up,even when playing as him,but you will still see the fatality performed on kintaro.
also you can swap charintros,victory,fatalities,etc for ladder,and you can get for instance,what looks like an brutality.
last thing,if you do swap charintro or victory for ladder,the audio for the ending will keep playing through the fight.
PS. i think i just figured out a way to swap xrays.
EDIT:i fixed it,it had nothing to do with boss fix,you wanna know the solution? i deleted red lao and neo rain,and shao kahn is suddenly back,i think it may have something to do that those had an ini file,honestly,wtf.
I FIGURED OUT A WAY TO SWAP XRAYS! in the mkscriptbinary,go to your char's xray and xray map,swap those for the same or less char length,and there you go,swapped xrays!
one issue,the character you swapped the xray from MUST be on the fight,else your char will freeze.
folks,i've started work on getting the 5 unplayable challenges playable outside other modes,case in point,krypt,koth,koth_s,bioviewer and nekropolis.
i already hex edited the file and stuff,but when i try to extract it,it doesnt,im going to try one last method,if it doesnt work,then i will need your help people.
EDIT:well it doesnt work,so im going to up my work,and anyone that can fix it,go right ahead.
i still have not tested these files,but they should extract correctly and not give me an error.
i think i need to add bytes to the combinedreferencer.objectreferencer,or if it cant be fixed,then we gotta replace the names of a thumb and big texture2d from inside the xxx.

hmm these sound good, by the way what other NPCs are there or are you going to completely design characters for them. Well if that is the case i would definatly suggest chameleon, after that blaze, the big one from armaggedon and the smaller one from deadly alliance, and finally, probably Onaga, Moloch and Motaro, these would be new bosses, oh man, these guys were awsome in thier games and in armaggedon as well, if they were in MK9, this would probably become the best MK Game Ever
forget about designing characters for now,thats pretty much impossible as of now,and the npcs,well through challenge tower,they work fine,which made me remind here is a list of every npc that can be playable : classicreptile,classicsmoke,classicjade,classicnoo b,fightingdummy_male,genericfightera,genericfighte rb,tarkatansoldiera,basemale,zombie_male,gl_oni,cy berninja_lk4d4,and jc_director.
there are some beta fragments still left in the game:in the ui_s_challengetower xxx file there is a ptb_oni texture2d,probably means gl_oni was meant to be fought or played but wasnt completed in time,and there was also blackdragon_grunt(no npc for him) again another character that possibly could have been fought against or played as(im betting more fought since there is a fstyle_thug01,a moveset exclusive for the ai)but apart from that,that's it,there is dlcbasemale and rederma(beta skarlet) but that's 360 exclusive,there are mentions of cyberzero_b in the script binaries(possibly cyber sub-zero's cancelled alt. costume) and there was also rederma_b,again should be pretty obvious(alt. costume for skarlet) lastly in the startup,the beta versions of shang tsung boss and classicsmoke were being called char_cpu_shangtsung and char_cpu_smokemktwo,respectively,and take a guess,rederma aka skarlet was there,but no kenshi,rain or freddy krueger,meaning skarlet was meant to be there from the beginning.
wait so does that mean we can't play as the classics in vs mode. Oh well, also for the characters, wondering if the characters like old jade and noob in the first set of mods are already given in the second one with patches?
oh okay so then for the first post, do the characters like jade in mk2, it's all in the patches or unlocks right? so basically the npcs like classics are only playable in challenge tower?
exactly,only playable on challenge tower,test your might,sight and strike modes.
one thing off topic,i was playing as kratos(what? he's a decent character.) and i left the game paused at the intro while i went to dinner,came back 30 mins later,and when he was saying you,the game cuts to kung lao's shaolin and then to liu kang's show me what you can do,in other words he said: you shaolin show me what you can do,even though i was fighting sektor,who is from the lin kuei,and apart from on his dreadlocks flying like crazy in his intro,the game did play a little bit of his human char intro on the end.(audio wise)
lastly,i defeated shao kahn and performed a fatality on him,since i beat him with a move that slows the game down(aka the launcher or it can also be the qte grab) the first part before the fatality occured had the audio slowed down,then after the fatality finished,the game slowed down(weird glitch when you beat the opponent with launcher or qte grab).
I have questions about the 1.05 patch.
Can it be used with the boss unlock?
I remember the 1.03 patch would freeze the DLC slots with bosses.
Is there a boss unlock compatible with this new patch?
