i tested modifying the .ini on the game folder the game functions normally but no dlc. i guess the mk9.ini is based upon the original .ini n the GAMES folder and the dlc ini. hisdudeness where does the xbox 360 install the dlc?? perhaps we only need to create fake .inis

hisdudeness i know we can do this because of the way the unreal engine works, people could dimply modify the coalesced.ini in mass effect 2 and it would work. the fact is when the game starts it creates a cache folder and divides the coalesced.ini into various other .inis. therefore we need only to know how to modify the coalesced.ini properly. i tried addind ermac_c and + ermac_c and it didn't work with even the +scorpion_c one. i havent tried to delete the coalesced .ini from the game folder to see if the game boots, if it boots we need to modify the coalesced in the iso folder along with the .toc file

you can also extract the .xxx files with quickbms it gives a other structure then umodel
only thing is you cant repack\rebuild them.has something to do with compressed chunks(i have no knowledge of that)
or else we could just swap the textures for example:Char_mileena.xxx with Char_mileena_d.xxx
so anybody who has knowledge of compression?

../MK9Game/BuildCachePS3/Config/PS3-MK9Game.ini
this in on the coalesced.ini therefore...
GUYS WE ONLY NEED TO MODIFY THE COALESCED.INI TO GET THE RETRO COSTUMES!!!!!!!!!!
the thing is what to modify the game folder one or the GAMES folder one

balofo. Did you try hex editing the coalesed.ini to look like what I have posted on
the last page? I'm thinking make that one up and slap it in GAMES since game is the cache.
I'm still thinking about the .MKO files in the PATCH/MKSCRIPT folder. How theres three for
Scorpion: scorp.MKO, scorp_b.MKO and scorp_c. MKO... There's also a mileena.MKO and mileena_d.MKO and a reptile.MKO and reptile_c.MKO

hisdudeness you can't undertand that the cache IS BASED ON THE COALESCED FILE!!!!! to create the cache it needs to be based upon something, that something is the coalesced.ini that when the game boots is divided iin many different .inis in the cache folder.
it's only a matter of modifying it correctly, no need for extra files

I think you fail to understand the program looks for the unlock key to add those there. It validates the unlock. i give up whatevs. you can add files all you want strings whatever its like puting cart before horse. if the program needs a keyvault to even begin to look into that section then it wont.
You need to think none of what you are talking about is dont on the 360 version they both run unreal. The only difference is how the systems handle unreal and how they handle there own dlc content.
the 360 dlc is more than just the strings its about 20 lines of code then the strings.
They used a program that compiles 360 dlc the right way. its more than just strings or text here its not a pc ini file. There is protection to some degree.

I hope your get the classic costumes to work, i dont like the alternate attires for some fighters like reptile ,sub-zero, kitana and mileena. In the case of Scorpion and Ermac i preffer ther alternate in place of the original.
Keep the good work !
Sorry for my english i speak argentinian.
