    im actually planning to install a rebug cfw already patched for reactpsn,i could prepare it for lara croft and the guardian of light and wait till the dlc is cracked(i want to play as raziel and kain,its been a long time since a game where you could play as either character)

    Hey guys whats up? I havent been here in a while and notice a lot of cool mods have popped up.
    The legacy sound mod is awesome! I'm gonna try the char mods a little later.

    Now here is something have to ask coming out of left field..
    The Mortal Kombat Arcade Kollection 1.02 patch has come.
    I tried playing around with it to get it to work on the Duplex crack,
    as well as with ReActPsn.. To no luck.

    The patch contents are an eboot, param and the MKHD / PS3Cooked folder
    Which only contain .xxx and .bin files.

    With React it loads up then shoots me back to the xmb with an error occurred number.
    With the Duplex crack I have tried replacing the files in the PS3Cooked folder.
    Which loads then freezes at the warning screen.

    I have noticed that some of the .xxx files sizes have changed that I think is leading to the freeze.
    Maybe not correctly adjusted to the ps3toc?

    So I placed each file in the CookedPs3 folder and narrowed the freezing down to four files:

    GFXUI.XXX
    GFXUI.XXX.UNCOMPRESSED_SIZE
    MKHDGAME.XXX
    MKHDGAME.XXX.UNCOMPRESSED_SIZE

    The GFXUI.XXX files freeze the game at the warning screen.
    The MKHDGAME.XXX files freeze the game after the warning screen.

    The Ps3toc numbers look correct. I'm pretty much stumped now..
    I can only think that something is in the new eboot that's not in the Duplex one?
    Any help is appreciated.

    try modifing the ps3toc sizes,that should fix it,btw im currently fixing my trophies,i discovered that the issue was not fixed with cfw or fromat(which i didnt do)
    i have to delete my trophies how fun.(and re unlock them,WHAT BS)

    OK, I've been trodging through this thread, but cannot figure out how to load modded characters. I'm on 3.55 cfw, version 1.03 of the game and have installed all the dlc characters with bosses included. Not sure but think i read somewhere about only certain versions being able to do the dlc folder trick, if so, the front page needs to inlude that info. Thanks!

    I've never heard of that,and the method listed on the first page will save you a lot of backing up and editing of certain files.
    First off, have you tried the method listed on the front page? You can still do it manually if that method doesn't seem to work, you would place the CHAR_whoever.XXX file in the external drive in the PS3_GAME/USRDIR/ASSET folder and overwrite (AFTER backing up the original) the character.XXX file you are replacing. Then, you will want to open the PS3TOC.TXT file (there are two of these files, one in the USRDIR folder and one in the CONFIG folder) And replace the file size to the left of the character
    Let's use the Scorpion Stormshadow mod for example:
    in the original PS3TOC file the line where that character will read:
    12812288 0 0 ..\Asset\CHAR_Reptile_C.xxx 0
    (the 12812288 is the file size 12,812,288 bytes)
    The mod however will be bigger, so you would have to make the new line look like this
    20534101 0 0 ..\Asset\CHAR_Scorpion_C.xxx 0 (when you right click on the .XXX file it will show you the size is 20,534,101 bytes)
    just replace the 12812288 with the 20534101 in the PS3TOC.TXT in both folders, make sure the modded .XXX file is in the ASSET folder and you should be good to go. If you wanted to go back to the original, just take your original .XXX file you backed up, change the PS3TOC files back and your character will be back to normal.
    (this is why some prefer to put the characters in the DLC folder)
    Once again, try the method listed on the first post of this thread and let us know if we can help out more.
    (sorry for the long description, but I wanted to go into as much detail as possible, if I missed anything guys let me know)

    @shloink,its recommended to use 1.01,as you only need to create a random folder in dev_hdd0/game/BLUS30522/USRDIR/DLC like mods and put modified chars or other stuff in,no need to mess with ps3toc.
    @kartyler,we already got further thanks to piraten,but its really glitchy from what he posted so we gotta wait till either he fixes it or digital fixes it(he did send this mod to digital,so good luck digital!)or piraten decides to post this mod(which i think its a better idea as we can all not two or one try to fix the glitch or glitches), but your post aint gonna make this mod show up from nowhere,so just have some patience.

    shloink - exactly, messing with the ps3toc is the older way to do it lol. (thanks futuretime, I forgot about using the 1.01 update on that one)

    k seems only way for me to get modded chars to load is by editing the toc files on disc and game data then replacing the xxx files. Thanks for the help!
