Time to Mortal Kombat
Johnny Cage just joined the All Blacks.
Let me know what you think..
side note on PS3TOC: I havent touched the PS3TOC in ages now. Ive found that you can put any file off the disc into the DLC folder on your PS3 hdd, and it overrides the original.
eg. if I wanted to override char_scorpion-xxx)
1. Id make a folder called SCORPION and place the char_scorpion-xxx file in it.
2. Then copy to my PS3 hdd (hdd0-game-BLES01132-USDIR-DLC).
same applies for char_scorpion_c-xxx (in folder called SCORPION_C) then into the DLC folder on PS3 hdd.
also been using folders named like SCORPION_C_MYMOD. works aswell.
and no, It dosent add extra costumes. only overrides originals off disc.
thanks for the FAQs man.
Wow thanks , Finally some new updates. I was afraid it was dead.
thanks tetzrep and digital,i will soon upload texturemods,i will focus on the bosses first, then the rest of the characters.
now onto script and sound modding....hehe.
oh, and getting the npc characters to work properly.
I modified the character by Texture2D,but when I save the folder DLC is not within the USRDIR folder, you must create this folder?
And the .XXX I should ask is what is called CHAR_SCORPION_new.XXX or the other?
And again, we need to put another name in the file .XXX?
Sorry for so many questions, but it is the first time working with this Texture2D.
EDIT: While I wait the answer, I'll try to make a costume for Shao Kahn green.
EDIT2: Ow, I wonder if the game can give some fault if I change the name of an NPC (NPC_CLASSICSMOKE.XXX) to a Char (CHAR_CLASSICSMOKE.XXX)
Time to Mortal Kombat
Could someone please correct me on the following:
RGB - contains the main image.
alpha - black lets light reflect, grey let %50 light reflect, white will have no reflection.
RGB - contains light reflection image
Alpha - Reflection Detail
RGB - contains image textures (Red=HARD [metal,plastic], Green=med soft [skin], Blue=soft [clothes])
Alpha - Texture Detail depending on its texture.
RGB - contains material details (bump map)
Alpha - added material details (Black=deep detail, White=surface detail)
RGB - contains the main damage image
Alpha - Transparentcy (Black=invisable, Grey=%50 visable, White=visable)
Plus been playing with CombinedObject Referencer.
- rearanged sound files - made no difference (game still found them in whatever order I put them in)
- zeroed out scorpion_c's cowl (mask) - game stayed the same. frooze when trying Toasty Fatality
maybe because when you did the toasty fatality, the game expected a specific mask value, and since you modified it ,it crashed.
Yip, you need to make the folder, or just install some DLC packages first and the folder will be there.
-CHAR_SCORPION_new-XXX = modified file
-CHAR_SCORPION-XXX = original file
If you using my addons, just type the name when asked -eg. MOD. It'll make a folder with the character and the name you typed -eg. SCORPION_MOD, then it renames the modified CHAR_SCORPION_new-XXX to CHAR_SCORPION-XXX and puts it into it with a couple of other config files.
You'll find changing names NPC to CHAR only works on selection screen. after that it freezes while loading.
Info for Mortal Kintaro
Tetzrep, got a problem,i tried using your mod program, followed the instructions the same, but when i run the second program a window will show up saying"windows can not open this file"(example FX_FireColorLookup_Diff .Texture2D,the character im trying to mod is Goro)but it keeps showing me different windows regarding the Texture2D files from the character im modding,i close them all,i use the third program but what Texture2D file im supposed to modify?
im sure that those windows that pop up when i use the second program are a glitch, anyway to fix it?
yip you can fix it, real easy. just have a look in the sources folder. The batch files in there for you to modify. I've included descriptions of what everything does too!. It's all written inside each batch file.
