Edit the fg_head_johnnycage.Texture2D and also the fg_head_johnnycage_lr.Texture2D
When you decompress and then extract the file into a folder it is going to be located in,
CHAR_JOHNNYCAGE Folder then go into CHAR_JohnnyCage-fda0b82c folder
then look for fg_head_johnnycage.Texture2D.
Then go from there.
i got bad news,i swapped npc_ClassicReptile.upk with CHAR_Reptile_ELDER.upk and yet it didnt work,keep in mind i used the dlc id method,not isondiscdlc method,so im gonna try that,but im 90% sure it aint gonna work.
been away for most of the day, the NPC_CYBERNINJA_LK4D4 and NPC_ZOMBIE_MALE were to one's I was taking a look at earlier. Once again just seeing if there were any special moves in there.
I was hoping the original way Tetzrep had gotten the bosses to work would be the key to getting some of our mods as extra DLC slots or the NPC characters.
Maybe we should focus on the mods as extra slots because we know they have all the movesets in everything.
The import and export tables are correct or we couldn't rebuild the .XXX files

Gonna check those files,in the meanwhile,i forgot to test the IsOnDiscDLC method,and using the DLC id method still gets to 90%.
btw,im thinking of creating a custom intro for the game,so,rather than netherrealm studio video ending when the black scorpion character shows up,i make it last longer,making it like a umk3 intro.
keep in mind,we can replace the subtitles for any video or ending, the audio for endings,and even swap the story videos themselves.
i smell....custom story mode?

I'm trying to inject my file in the toc
but what's the number before the game path?
It's the size of the file? it's an offset? how can I find the right one fro my file? thanx
If it's on the PS3, then the numbers on the left in front of the CHAR name is the size of the file you are replacing or modding. For instance:Quote:

not sure about the file structure on the 360, but you'll need to change this in the PS3GAME/USRDIR directory as well as in the PS3GAME/USRDIR/CONFIG folder

But how do I find the right size on my pc I see 155kn how do I find the exact xxxxxx bytes???
Even if I open the file on a hex editor I cannot find the size in thousand bytes
So i tried to take NPC_ClassicSmoke.xxx and rename it to Char_Smoke_C.xxx then put it into asset folder and accorded with the coalesced.ini and toc file
then i made this dlc smoke_c__Xe-MK9Game
[Player.DownloadContentUnlocked]
+smoke_c=TRUE
[Player]
+IsOnDiscDLC=+smoke_c
Pressing start over smoke make me find normal costume, mk2 costume and BUG_ME costume that is the Classic Smoke char,
but also this way it stuck on 90% of the loading...
it seems it cannot load some useful information or maybe some script is sticking the process

The last lines include a DebugMenu folder that DOESNT exist in the game iso, if only we could create an xml file with the right syntax maybe we could control health, chars and settings here???
i think the debug menu exists because,it seems to be that the 360 version was the original version.
a perfect example is on coalesced.eng,it says at the beginning of the file XboxLIVE:Get Online And Challenge Other Kombatants In Mortal Kombat.
remember this is the PS3 coalesced.eng.
this could also apply to MK8 aka MKVSDCU.(same deal as MK9).
the only hopes we have to get the npcs to show up on the char select screen is if digital or piraten tells us what did piraten do to get the npcs working,though they were glitchy.
vampirexx,digital told me before that if you swap the name of the npc,you need to also have a same amount of letters as the npc's original name,so if i had npc_classicreptile which has 18 characters i would swap it for char_reptile_elder which again has 18 chars.
though IIRC piraten told us he was able to get the npcs working with separate dlc slots,means they werent costumes.

On the XXX. File's Right click go to properties Look for Size (no't Size on disk)
It would look like this: Size 18.6 MB (19,548,018 bytes) from there just delete the comma's there you go 19548018
