Hi guys sorry for being away for a wile : Life happened.
BUT - we are busy this side working on a new Char.xxx extractor meaning we can repack also.
who else noticed that we can decompress and extract files rebuild them (adding with some editing) but unable to extract the files edited (added) eg: take the bosses ps3UIvs files...how do we know the complete char.xxx gets extracted?
I need to ask this. we freeze on 90 loading when we apply my "start" selection name added to costume menu regardless if the character has been modded or not.
this can be cause we either ignored the unix rules of capitals etc, or simply cause we did not duplicate the files needed like asset, char_ , name.xxx every character has a unique set of files, compairing extracted files indicates this.
where does the loading screen get its information from ? what i mean to ask is when loading and checking files as it loads it compares to the disc - if faulty it recopy the file to internal.
it cant just be in the ps3toc.txt or coalsced.ini files... when i have a complete extracted character we hope that we will have more answers and a solution.
back to the beginning. will be re doing all from scratch i have a feeling we gonna break it this time.
but any additional help towards file reference will be greatly appreciated.
no v1.00 seems to not allow us to boot the game, i tried this.... thats why my friend and i decided its back to the drawing boards. to much have changed , and not everything till now has been taken into regard.

frikkie the bosses ui files are found in the edited ui ps vs jepgs ps3,as well ui ps vs ps3 and ui ps vs ps3 n,though the pics of the bosses were photoshopped,aka taken from a screenshot or edit,i think there was one in youtube of goro which is EXACTLY the same as the one in the bosses mod,though if you are talking about the arcade ladder pics,i havent found them yet,tried searching for stuff such as noob ladder,but it only contains animations for the standard in-game ending.
another thing,1.00 works,you need to use ebootfix,the game is 3.56.
or you can optionally use 3.41,or 3.56MA

what i am trying to say is there are certain rules regaring loading char.xxx and a friend and i am looking deeper into this. we know its possible adding name spaces (slots)when pressing start, and also via the method used for adding goro(bosses)
now loading a double char.xxx or into new name slot causes the game to freeze right?
So by going back to the beginning and not having any pkg installed that modify any image files, we are busy with example activating Ermac... He unlocks Classic Reptile - Scorpion - sub Zero.
The DLC folder... was this initiated via .pkg updates? why when adding any folder with its content into DLC why does it load? so we decided to not go so far yet.
in Short, we have been able to extract some xxx files not using any tool provided here, and currently looking into mko files.
also once we can unpack the complete package we will be able to repack decompressed file again. Hoping to integrate this into a live view/update utility.
in short disable / enable certain features in the character file mask on or off. but this may take some time. My friend is a wizzard at programming took him 4 minutes to extract some images embedded in a compressed xxx. So Guys please have some faith, we are onto something.
also we discovered a empty Mesh file. Lilgrim you said meshes tend to run wild over the screen... looking into this also.

I'm surprised to see no activity for close to 3 days on this thread,so i have another announcement,within these days i will only focus on getting the missing bosses finishers inputs(shao kahn stage fatality,kintaro babality and stage fatality) and testing out this new duke nukem mod i made.
Apart from that,i might test out editing the startup xxx a little more and maybe doing some sound mods with oub's tools and tutorial.
