Red light burning on Cobra, firmware upgrade not possible
Red light burning on Cobra, firmware upgrade not possible –

I just received the Cobra USB and finally had some time at hand to install it. So I've downloaded the necessary files (wich took me some time cause the offficial site is down) and started following the manual. The lights on the CS were burning blue. I installed the drivers and my system told me all was ok. Then I moved on to updating the firmware. I dragged the file onto the exe, a dosbox opened and then told me that it couldn't find the device. When I looked at the Cobra USB, the leds were switched from Blue to Red. It cannot be recognised by my PC. Tried another one, same issue. Lights stay red. Did the same on my PS3, through that method. But when I start the installed pkg file an error displays and the program terminates. It is in PC mode now.

the only thing that comes to mind is, maybe the firmware you downgraded isnt the actual cobra firmware . i would try a different source, see if that changes anything

The firmware did not update and I can't update, cause it isn't being recognised. Not by the PS3 and not by the PC's. Is there a way to reset the dongle?

i dont have a clue man, i dont have a cobra yet. i had a problem like this with my psbreak. what i did is went to device manager and deleted the driver/s for it, then reinserted (huhuh) it back into the PC and it was recognized.
open device manager and then plug it in, see if anything pops up. if it does delete the driver and then take out the cobra and put it back.
Do this at your own risk tho, i am not held responsible for anything that happens. i would personally contact cobra and ask them about it if i were you.
