I just got the TB dongle a few days ago. I used it fine the first night (updated to latest firmware, played a few TB games, etc.), when I tried it again the next morning the dongle would flash red and tell give me an error message when attempting to start multiMAN. I shut the ps3 off and turned it on a few minutes later and it back to flashing green. I figured it was a slight glitch, but the red light has come back one again.

What's going on and how do I resolve this? My PS3 also doesn't make the beeping noise when I attempt to turn it off after the flashing red light appears..which I found odd.

When its red its means the payload of the dongle isn't loaded, which means games wont work (even old ones). The error in multiman was prolly BD-EMU not detected or whatever you may not be able to mount games or something like that just means dongle payload isnt loaded and CFW is not in TB mode but rather dongleless CFW 3.55 mode.

Not much to do except reboot like you did mine does the same. If you have an upgraded ps3 internal HD that may be the problem the bigger capacity internals like 500GB require more power at boot and the TB dongle also requires power so sometimes this happens. Best to unplug all USB devices except dongle and then after ps3 boots with green dongle plug in ext hd's, controllers etc

I have the 320G PS3 slim. So basically I just have to unplug the dongle, put it back in and turn the ps3 on and hope I get lucky?

as someone else said, did you tried starting the ps3 with only the dongle inserted?

Maybe you can try to downgrade your dongle and then upgrade it again to 2.72.

Also, when you upgraded to 2.72, did you check if it was an original true blue or not?

Well theres your problem, im surprised the dongle turns green at all. You cant use KMeaw with dongle, you have to use True Blue CFW v2
Yeah immediately get TB CFW v2 using Kmeaw or other CFW can brick the dongle. http://www.ps3scenefiles.com/file.php?id=265

Also how in the hell did you play a few TB games or any games at all for that matter with KMeaw installed. I guess it might play old games with Kmeaw and dongle in if it was red but certainly not any TB patched games.

I knew he was doing something wrong. This is why it's important for us to ask them to be specific with the name and numeric tags of the CFW and updates. Just to make sure he is doing things correctly from the start.

Sorry, that was a mistype. I was stating that I was on kmeaw 3.55 when I got the dongle and applied the TB CFW over that, and thus was able to play a few of the games.

Yeah OBVIOUSLY he was doing something wrong. Usually it's people not following directions, pretty much always.
