That if you try to copy a game that has split files [filename.666##] of a 4GB+ file, when you use multiMAN copy feature from External HDD to Internal HDD, it will unsplit [combine] the files to it's original size. So if you have the game on the external HDD with those type of split files, multiMAN will put the game intact once you copy it over to the internal HDD. At least this is my understanding that this feature will still work with TB and multiMAN.
Now about keeping the game on the external HDD. Let's say you have a collection of games that have files that have the 4GB+ files. It would be nice to be able to keep them all in our internal HDDs, but eventually you'll run out of space--especially those that have 60 or 80GB PS3s. So what I suggested above is to keep the game on the external HDD whenever you no longer need to play the game (to archive it in your collection). And it will be there until (A) you desire to play it again on your internal HDD or (B) TB finally makes 4GB+ split files work on external HDD. And the user will have to be mindful that in multiMAN it will show duplicates of those particular games (one sits on the Internal HDD and another one sits on the External HDD) and he also has to remember which one plays and which one doesn't (at the moment). Boy, I hope that is clear, kinda of hard to explain it.
@migoto, the .psarc files are sometimes the big 4GB+ file in some games. And there is an extractor for .psarc files (like Unzip or WinRAR) that will extract the large file and give you bunch of folders and files for those folders. So basically the .psarc file is just one giant compressed file. Some games will work just fine when you extract this huge file and as long as you keep the proper order in the directory for these files, the PS3 will know where to fetch those files and folders from. You will have to Google ".psarc extraction" to understand the process. I've only done it to a few games, and had some work and some do not work on an external HDD, for the problem that arises that I mentioned earlier.
MI 1372mb means Mandatory Install of game data to your Internal HDD--it's just a precaution so you know that your external HDD will require some free space for this game in order to play. 1372mb would be like 1.3GBs
And you should know that there are tutorials about splitting files for multiMAN and that multiMAN is able to also split and unsplit files. This is all common ground. Please use Google and look up: split4G
