Is True Blue Worth It?
Is True Blue Worth It? –

Just wondering if purchasing True Blue at this point would be worth it? If I bought one and then two weeks from now someone come out with a cfw that does what True Blue then I would be pissed. So I guess my question is, is anyone working on a cfw that does what True Blue does or will it be awhile like say 6mo or so that it would be worth spending like $60 bucks for a True Blue? Also if any one know where to get one cheaper, then please respond. Thanks.
Also on a side note, if you have a True Blue dongle does it allow you to go online or just play the newer games offline? How does it works roughly? What is it doing that can't be incorporated into a cfw?

Is it worth it? That's always the gamble. You can play the waiting game, there is no deadline on when a new CFW will become available. And if you wish to play right now, then get the dongle.
Everything you need to know about the TrueBlue Dongle is listed here: http://psx-scene.com/forums/f265/%5B...ue-blue-99012/
No, you can't play online with TrueBlue. TB has it's own modified CFW 3.55, which means it isn't the latest firmware in order to get on PSN.

Simple answer NO!!! It does not allow Hermes Payload (your bigger games external no go!!!) It damn sure does not play Batman Arkham City even after everyone complained about it, there are no new games in the v2.4 (im sorry but if batman wasn't added then those other crummy games do not count!!!) They haven't done anything but be a let down stick to Mew 2 or Kwmea !!!

I am pretty sure the TB Team is working on a fix for 4GB+ files for external HDDs. As for Batman, the TB disc is made available for $10 bucks, it's not that bad--so it does play on TB. I also wished that we could archive it on our HDDs, but meantime, there is still a way to play it on TB and 3.55 CFW.
There has been newer games for TB v2.4. Perhaps not the kind you like to play, but like they say, "one man's junk, is another man's treasure".
hey, why don't you sell your TB Dongle to us? I am pretty sure someone may get it from you, this way you can go back to Kmeaw 3.55 and play old games

You've been crying about Batman eboot on most of your posts. Just buy the damn game. Nobody forces you to buy the TB dongle. You should do your home work first before you invest on something you don't like. Like Jay-Jay says sell it so you can stop whining about Batman. Just put it this way, if you will buy the TB dongle for $60.00 that's about the same price for one game so you'll just break even....PEACE...

Thanks Datalife,
BTW I am even willing to buy it for him so I don't have to read another rant/troll post from him. Check it: http://psx-scene.com/forums/f265/10-...01/#post944812 (10 BR Discs Only 1 Counts!) I spend more money on Golf Balls than what that TB disc is worth to me!

Well thanks for all the info. I guess I just may be buying the dongle then. There are at least three or four games I want to play and the price of the dongle is cheaper than updating my firmware and buying all the damn games. I could give two shits about online play. The fact that sony keeps trying to control us by forcing us to update is really pissing me off. I am not renting this console, I bought it. If I want to keep firmware on lower version and buy a new game then I should be able to play the damn thing. Thanks again for all the information.

Sony has to cover the 2 yr warranty on new console sales, so I understand the firmware updates that actually address issues. As for the question of is the TB worth it. Considering there is no alternative to be able to play current games and retain your ability to run your homebrew.. I think the obvious answer is yes. I guess you can buy the clone and get the same benefits at this point.. but the jury is out on whether JBK will ever actually be able to offer anything of it's own.

Now that I see it is 10 bucks that's not so bad, it's just the external issue for me if they can fix that and do resident evil in march then I guess we can call it even and no I am not selling the dongle, if you would to tell me what tools I can use to back it up and then ask me to sell you a cloned one by all means I am good with this kind of stuff. Linux tools like clone zilla and g part did not detect the dongle as a hdd device so if I don't know what I can use to clone it then I am just going to use it and hope they come of up with an external fix. Geohot is a pimp and a legend pretty much forever for hacking the ps3!
