True Blue v2.51 not working

reports are that newly bought dongles read 2.51 in system info also TB symbol is to the bottom when inserted and a brighter green light

That cant be right.... is that a GENUINE TB dongle? Did you follow the instructions? On the Website the firmware should say 2.1-2.5 nothing dealing with 2.51 if your TB dongle is in you should play your old backups regardless

EDIT: Try to update to 2.2 and work your way up if you cant do that your dongle is defected

Yes its genuine, i know they don't have it on the website.
I already tried to update to 2.4 and it didnt work. I don't think they are able to downgrade?

start PS3 without dongle inserted
run update app
when prompted to insert dongle to far right usb port
let app update.
your PS3 will then restart

let us know outcome

"ERROR: Can not communicate with dongle!" whenever I try to run an update. I'm pretty sure you cant downgrade

might seem like a stupid question but just covering bases. Did you boot your PS3 with the TB inserted or did you put the TB in after you booted your ps3?

That is what I have been doing. I have tried every update app too. it always says "ERROR: Unable to communicate with dongle!" yes it is new and tb is on the bottom

I booted my ps3 with it in when trying to run games. When trying to update I only inserted when prompted in the program.

ok this happend to my mate also, but he got a slightly different error. What he did was go back to OFW 3.55, then update to TrueBlue 3.55 V1, the to V2 and applied the update and worked fine. Try that.

Also if you updated using the XMB menu and didnt not work update the ps3 in recovery menu and see if that helps.

The TB site only has update up to 2.5 and they don't have any news of a firther update past this

If you have anything else plugged into the other ports, unplug them and then try it
