True blue questions –
03-17-2012,11:55 PM
Ok so i relented and brought it from lightake, i feel bad about giving a drm company £37 but well what choice do we have these days? but i have some questions:
1) is there a list of TB compatable games?
2) how do i use the patchs with my retail discs? (do i need to rip them with multiman? if so any special settings)
3) do i have to get region specific patchs (im guessing not as the games i have seen only have 1 patch file, but then maybe my european versions (im a brit) arnt supported (that would suck) but theres wasy around that i guess that shant be discussed here)
4) i saw some horror stories of delivery from lightake but that seemed to be related to when the dongle was out of stock and well its in stock at mo, anyone order recently?can i expect it in days or a week? or longer?
thanx in advance (to all those against TB, im sorry but my ps3 has gathered dust long enough, i want to get back online and gaming with out giving sony custody of my ps3, and i know my luck....now i have paid money a software solution will be weeks away
...your welcome) ....i feel dirty

1 - http://psx-scene.com/forums/f265/tru...-thread-99116/ (TrueBlue Game compatibility thread) (complete as far as I know and look here before bothering with some games. Some don't work the way they should)
2 - You backup the games the same way you always did. You just take the patch files and overwrite the contents of the backup. If you're worried about it you can always make a backup of the files it replaces
3 - It doesn't matter what region your game is. Just apply the patch and you're good.
4 - Just ordered some TB discs from them at the end of last month. You're looking at 2-3 weeks before it's even trackable. Don't expect it any time soon.
That dirty feeling goes away when you get hooked on a new game

2) im just in the process of updating multiman to be ready for when the postman arrives (you can play games networked off your pc!??! no more 4gig filesize limit !!!wooo)
3) very cool that set my mind majorly at rest
4) im on holiday untill 2nd of april, one of the reasons for giving in is that im going stir crazy at mo ....this was not good news lol but whats done is done, its paid for now and i spose i can use the time to rip stuff to my ps3 and get the trueblue firmware installed ready (im using rebug at mo no idea what version, do i lose anything by installing it?)
as for the dirty feling ...i hope your right though a quick look at that list shows some games missing , whats the average time from game release to patch (i know not all are patched) though if your right anout 2-3 weeks (for a tiny dongle eeeek) then more should be available lol

dont hold your breath on the newer eboot patches this Jailbreak king should cause a delay in eboots for a while. You need to think of this anyway you already payed your moneys worth on the dongle and who says there might be a new eboot patch in the future just a thought bro....
Why not just do what I did and install the TB CFW and the updates when you get ( the true blue dongle )all the games work fine
ONCE YOU GET THE DONGLE sry for the confusion.

There's actually only a few older than 2 or 3 weeks that haven't been patched yet or have disc versions of. Patches were slow around the holidays but I think they release something like 15-20 inside of a 7 day period about 10 days ago. They're pretty good about staying current. There should be another fairly large update within the next week or two but there's over 100 to choose from so it should keep you busy for a while.
Save yourself some headache and don't install TB firmware until you get the dongle. It acts like 3.55 official without the dongle inserted meaning none of your backups will work
edit IMPORTANT

If you want to do the prepwork this is what I did before I got mine. I put all the TB games I wanted to play in dev_hdd0/GAMESTB/ and dev_usb0/GAMESTB/ and went ahead and applied patches as I added them. They won't show up in your multiMAN list but you'll have them ready to go. Then when you get your TB, install the firmware, install the dongle updater, run the updater. You can either move all your folders in /GAMESTB to /GAMES or do like I did and just edit multiMAN's config file to point to your GAMESTB folder. That way you always know what games are TB only and which ones are regular 3.55

2 questions:
1. Can I go back from TB firmware to KMEAW easily? Meaning just reinstalling KMEAW and not needing hardware flashers and such
2. What about the older games like NIER and Demons Souls will I be able to play them with multiman even after I install TB firmware or is TB Firmware just for the 3.6+ games?

It wont allow you to play online. There is no PSN access with TB.
