True Blue install problems and Multiman
True Blue install problems and Multiman –

I tried to install the true blue cfw on my 3.55 phat ps3 and the update 2.5. After the install my system says version 3.55, not 3.55 true blue. Also my multiman is not working at all, just a black screen and then eventuallly goes back to xmb menu. I have looked all over for a solution and can't find anything that works to fix it. I still have install packages and app in game column, but some of my psn games are not working or not working properly(no sound). I tried to do through recovery mode as well as xmb update. For some reason the system information still only says version 3.55, even after trying to reinstall ofw 3.55 and the true blue 3.55

it's gonna say 3.55 if you don't boot with your TB inserted. Also it could have installed the update from your disc instead of your USB drive. Pop out the disc if you're still having issues and try to do the firmware install again

if none of the above works, and as you said some psn games are not working correctly you'll prob have to format you hdd in recovery menu and the install ofw and then TB CFW

Very bad advice. do not follow this. The reason some PSN games stop working is the activations have to be redone after switching to TB firmware. DO NOT FORMAT YOUR HARD DRIVE

After I install the tb cfw with no disc in drive it says "the latest version of the system software is already installed. There is no need to update." Then I do the 2.5 update from install pkg. When I try to run the update it goes to a black screen, and I have to hold down power button to turn off. I have tried with flash drive out and in while trying to run update with the same black screen.

I managed to get some games working now,but without sound. They have sound on the xmb menu but not during game play. Is there some other fix or patch for older games to work properly on true blue example: Saints Row 2.

you should go into recovery menu to do the system update. It should fix your sound problem and you won't be told the latest version is already installed. turn off ps3, hold down power button until your ps3 turns on then back off. wait a couple seconds. hold down power button again until you hear a series of beeps and you are asked to connect a controller. Install the firmware from that menu

I did install from recovery menu, but did have problem where 2.5 update would not install. Just said could not communicate with dongle. Should I try to update in steps, getting 2.2, 2.3, 2.4 and then 2.5. I'm still trying to find other answers, but doesn't seem to be anyone else having the same issues as me.

Everybody gets that message about can't communicate with dongle. did you install the dongle updater pkg, then run it? You have to remove all usb devices first. It will prompt you when to insert the dongle
Edit: it says something about USB device not recognized

My system information is now showing tb v2.51. I can start some games, but still with no sound. Also using multiman 02.09.02 is starting extremely slow. Is that normal or should I try running a different version?
