TB Dongle not detected by PS3

Hi,

i have updated to the TB firmware over Kmeaw on 3.55, upon completion i have inserted my Dongle (from Lightake) and it shows a constant red light.

I insert the dongle before power on then boot the ps3 and check the FW version of the Ps3 and it shows only 3.55, which leads me to believe it should display '3.55 Tb Dongle' if the Dongle is doing its thing.

Looking at various Youtube videos i note that when the dongle is inserted during the update process the message comes up in the top right corner that an 'unknown USB device is installed' - i never get this message

i get a 'cannot communicate with dongle message' when i try and instage the dongle update process

during my quest to get this working i have reinstalled OFW again, resinstalled Kmeaw etc etc (always through recovery menu). i always get the red solid light on the dongle.

Any Help here would be appreciated.

Youre using the WRONG FIRMWARE !! YOU CANT USE KMEAw WITH THE TB DONGLE.
Install OFW again via safe mode , then install TB CFW v2 via safe mode then turn the ps3 off.
Then insert the dongle into the left port and turn on the ps3...The first 5-10 seconds it will show red light then it should show green..
If this doesent work ,you probably bricked your dongle with the kmeaw firmware :S

Sorry you must have misunderstood my post, i went from Kmeaw to TB CFW v2 and it did not work, since then i have regressed to OFW, and Kmeaw again installing TB CFW v2 over the former, still to no avail all i get is the solid red light.

Maybe the system is not installing the TB CFW v2 correctly?

First of all you dont need to go from oFW to kmeaw then to TB cfw v2 ,you should install tb cfw v2 from ofw not from kmeaw ...but you said that when you go to system info without the dongle it says 3.55 so thats right it should be that way..you probably messed something up during the dongle update..
Ok this is what you should do.
Turn the ps3 without the dongle and install the latest 2.7 tb update.
Then start the update and wait until it says to insert the dongle,then when it says to insert the dongle , insert it in the left port and wait for it dont press the OK option yet .
wait for the "unknown USB device detected" message to show up 4 times and then press OK, it should update the dongle and the ps3 will restart !

Gave that a shot, ps3 does not detect it still has solid red light. Any other suggestions appreciated?

Hmm i dont know man :S are you sure you installed the tb cfw V2 ?
when updating try using the right usb port!
or maybe your ps3 usb port is messed up, maybe u should use a usb hub ?

Yeah installed Tb cfw, tried both ports and a hub! Im either missing something obvious here or my tb is corrupt :facepalm:

I really dont know man, wait for it maybe someone knows whats the problem :S
But i really dont know whats wrong :S

Your dongle is defective, you should replace it or get a refund. Contact lightake.

id also say your dongle is messed up try going into recovery mode and install 3.55 ofw and then go back into recovery mode and instal the tb cfw v2 then try updating the dongle to 2.7 if it works you should see 4.11 trueblue under system information if that doesnt work post back again see if anyone else has any other ideas
