You've got it right. You run ReActPSN while logged into your aa account. I've run it before on my normal account and it still reads the aa account, but it's just an extra step to make sure it works right

I've seen that ACT.DAT that's in those mega-packs. I could never do anything with it. It's better just to make your own. Also remember that those mega packs shouldn't be used all at once. There's just too many and it causes errors if you try to do several thousand activations at once. Just grab the ones you need. You can find the right ones by using windows search with the game id or in command prompt in the backup exdata folder type dir *GAMEID*. So it would be like dir *BLUS10111*

Good luck. It's easier than it sounds once you get the hang of it

OK, do I need to sign up with MY account too?
Thanks for the heads up about not using all those at once, I was just going to dump them all
the act_dat that gets created, will that work for my PS3 or only for THAT account If at some point I change to a new hdd or something do I have to do the whole process over again or will that same act_dat work?
Just some quick clarification (I'm a very "touched" individual) should it rename aa during R1 or during the process when I do nothing or both? (when it did it last night it happened when I held R1, but as I said I can't replicate it now)

I have mainly been testing with "Age of Booty" (it's small and loads quick, plus I only have to hit 2 buttons to check if it's activated) I have the rap files for it and everything, so I should be able to use this same process to activate both ME3 DLC and Age of Booty?

Once everything is done and I have the correct rif files and all that wonderfulness. Can I just copy/paste the exdata folder if I ever update the drive or will everything have to be reactivated?

Again, thank you so much for your patience and help here BahumatLord. Looks like PSX-SCENE is my new site for info you guys seem to have it together here!

EDIT: OH! and when it creates the stuff in PUBPsn do I need to extract those or copy the rar file to usb/exdata

It's a good idea to go ahead and sign up for PSN on both accounts even if you never use PSN. You should always rename to aa every time you use ReActPSN no matter what trigger button you're trying to use. You'll have to set it up again on a new hard drive if you replace it. How that works is you should always keep your /exdata folder on your external drive. You'll need it everytime you run ReActPSN anyway, so setting up on a new drive will be as simple as just running ReActPSN again. You could also just take that external hard drive to any number of PS3's and use those activations on those consoles too if you have friends or family that you want to set them up. PUBPSN is the backup folder right? Just leave it where it is.

I'm a little rusty on the commands, but you should be able to find them in the text file that came with it. Holding nothing will scan your external /exdata folder. Holding x for 6 seconds will scan your internal /game folder and generate missing activation files for everything except DLC and PSX/PSOne content. Holding triangle for 6 seconds will scan for DLC and generate activation files, and R1 will generate a backup if I'm not mistaken. It's always best to use the RAP/EDAT that comes with your download and just run it without holding anything. Mass Effect 3 DLC will work the same way, but like I said, there's no popup for it on the title screen. The gun is handed to you by a soldier that's blocking your path out of the gunship and you get an email in-game for the other DLC later in the storyline when you get access to free travel in a mothership kind of thing. I haven't gotten that far in game yet, but I've seen the trooper that gives you the gun

OK, so I downgraded, signed up/in on PSN. Copied my act_dat to the usb. Upgraded dongle and put act_dat back into 00000x/exdata for the aa account. Ran ReactPSN from aa account...... It's changing the name and generating rif files in 000000x/exdata but not on MY account only in the aa account. I didn't have time to play through and check ME3, but my "Age of Booty" shows no change. I see the generated rif files in there for it, but it still says I have to purchase full game to play any further. Is there something small I can run through this process that you know works? I'm wondering if it's just maybe this game is not working, and it may be days before I get the time to actually sit down and play something (father of 4 and they are all under 8yrs old). So looks like we are closer, now it's just trying to figure out if this actually works or not.

Why are you copying your act.dat? When you sign up/in for PSN and run ReActPSN holding R1 it will set you up with one assigned to your user account. ReActPSN is only going to change/work with your aa account. BUT activations done on your aa account work on your normal account.

If you get absolutely stuck, PatrickBatman put up a guide on how to use Rap2Rif in the TB section I think. It's a stickied topic but it might shed some more light on it for you

I copied it because to do the TB update the instructions say to remove the TB dongle to begin update, then insert dongle when it says to. That killed my act_dat. Like I said it might just be that game, do you know of a small game or theme or something that I can run through this quick to see if it's working? I get about 10min a night at best to mess with this stuff. The weekends are my best time to mess with this, but that's also when I'm away from a decent net connection (I live in the middle of nowhere)

ADDITION: Looking around I found a note that the pkg file has to be installed from the ReactPSN account for it to work? Any truth to this? Like ME3 DLC, would I install that from MY account or from aa?

Losing the act.dat when you update your dongle happens to everyone. You just need to re-run ReActPSN without holding anything to restore it. Copying/restoring it yourself is never a good idea. If you're just looking to test if it's working, there are large dynamic theme packs available. You'd have to ftp/copy the P3T and EDAT files for the themes to dev_hdd0/theme and run ReActPSN. If it worked you can use the new themes. If it didn't it'll give you an error message when you try to apply a theme.

I doubt you have to install pkg files from your ReActPSN account. They're universal as far as I know

I thought this didnt happen to you BLord? Also I always copy my act.dat onto PC then when I remove dongle and lose act.dat put the one on PC in its place after i plug the dongle back in. You pretty much have to do this with Rap2Rip method. Havent had any problems.
