Please help with TB and ReactPSN

OK so I've asked around on other PS3 sites and pretty much gotten the cold shoulder I've read other posts, tutorials, etc but am still having a problem

So I am on TB latest CFW latest dongle update System menu says 4_11, TrueBlue 2_7

I appear to have an act_dat (never been onto PSN or signed up though?)

According to what I've read I should be able to just use ReactPSN and not have any problems
Well, it creates the folders and stuff when I run it with O or R1 but when I go to run it again it will not change the aa account
I have no idea what to do I've tried everything short of using a patched vsh_self I hadn't tried that yet as I've read mixed reviews some say it works, some say it bricks, some say it messes up the PS3

At this point I guess I'm just trying to confirm a few things and get some guidance On the other sites people gave me the same answers of "run without the dongle in, are you sure you're on latest TB dongle, etc" but then just vanish when none of that works I'm hoping that someone here may be able to actually provide me with some REAL assistance in this

Give us a step-by-step of exactly what you do every stage of the process. There's a lot of different things that people do wrong and it would help to know what you're doing so it's easier to spot what you're missing.

I followed this first (minus the spoofer and vsh )

1 install reactPSN 2 00-2 20 on TB CFW v2
2 install spoofer 4 00 for 3 55 from rebug
- You can use edited VSH self for TB CFW v2 if having difficulties
3 create new user called "aa" for reactPSN account
4 install DLC From Ashes and DLC M55 Argus Assault Rifle
5 copy rap files to "exdata" folder on USB drive [insert USB drive in right USB slot on PS3] - (tried having the on both hdd and usb, didn't make a difference at all)
6 start reactPSN and hold R1 for 6 sec - here's where it does nothing (i have a few dlc/games that have the rap files in usb/exdata)
7 rename changed reactPSN account to user "aa"
8 start reactPSN again without holding any button
9 Play your Mass Effect 3 with DLCs using TB dongle of course

When none of that worked, I went through and deleted everything for ReactPSN, reinstalled, and followed this

1 Install TB CFW v2 and 2 62 update if havent already

2 put your USB Thumb or USB HDD back into your PC or MAC

3 Download reActPSN v2 0 or 2 20

4 Now extract reactPSN v2 0 rar (or 2 20) and drag reactPSN v2 0 pkg to the root of your USB Thumb stick or USB HDD

5 On the root of your USB Thumb Stick create a folder called exdata Whenever you get new rap and edat files drag them into this very folder (Every Time) usb:exdata/rap files Always leave previous rap and edat files in exdata for when you reuse reActPSN v2 0 for newer games downloaded

6 Now install the reActPSN v2 0 pkg like any other pkg from usb in furthest PS3 right USB port (but dont run the program(s) created yet)

8 Run ReActPSN and hold R1 (Some people say Hold Circle instead) during the restart process should only take about 20 seconds (Holding R1 will make a ReActPSN folder on the base of your usb drive with 2 folders in it "BK0001" and "pubPSN") Any content you purchased prior to this hack will be backed up in pubPSN folder in the form of rap and edat files (These are the very files needed for us all to activate any shared psn, dlc or psone classic games, THAT YOU OWN If you had no previous content BK0001 wont be created)

9 Check to see if reactPSN folder was created on USB HD/STICK if not you didnt hold down R1 or USB HD is not in PS3 right port

10 Copy the exdata folder contents in pubPSN to the exdata folder you created on the root of your USB drive

11 Create a new user account on the PS3 called aa

12 Run reActPSN again *do not push anything this time (it will rename user "aa" to reActPSN v2 0 xrif xedat)

13 When it's finished your PS3 console will automatically restart again (If not restart PS3 manually)

14 You'll notice aa has been renamed to something reActPSN v2 0 xrif xedat Thats it done

15 Everytime you want to install new PSN , PSone games or DLC content, just go into reActPSN v2 0 ACCOUNT and rename it to aa (You can do multiple games, dlc, etc at one time, if you have rap and edat files, usb HD)

16 Download, extract rap and edat files (that came with dlc pkg etc) to exdata folder on the root of your USB Thumb stick or USB HDD

17 Run reActPSN v2 0 (app) again, then install psn game, dlc, or psone classic pkg(s) after reboot

18 Make sure to keep all previously activated rap and edat files in the exdata folder on Root of USB Thumb stick or HDD for everytime you use reActPSN v2 0 and also for archival purposes

19 ReactPSN will now work for 2 62 for two or more working PS3 usb ports

It just never changes the aa account

I've followed both of these steps numerous times over the past few weeks with no result. Hope someone has some advice. I inherited this PS3 and was hoping to be able to just activate and play but no luck. Should I try deleting the exdata on the hdd?

just caught what you said in your first post. You've never been on PSN? That's a necessary step for your ReActPSN account. Just create a dummy account because ReActPSN is going to break PSN access for that account but the activations for it carry over to your normal account. The new Rebug Spoofer will help you be able to make a PSN account

Yes and no. If you haven't created a PSN account then your PS3 won't look for activations to start with. It's real easy to do. You'll need to downgrade to 2.5 because the rebug spoofer interferes with the one in 2.7 TB. After downgrading install and activate the rebug spoofer from Codename: REBUG. It'll probably be best to start from scratch on the user account. Make an account that you plan to use only to do ReActPSN activations. Go over to the PSN section and hit Sign Up. Follow all on screen instructions. You'll need a dummy email address. Once it says "Sign In" go ahead and do that. Then follow normal steps for ReActPSN.

If you get it to where it changes the aa name of the account, then you can uninstall Rebug spoofer and reinstall TB 2.7. After installing 2.7 you'll have to run ReActPSN again just to make sure everything's still working. If it still changes the name of the aa account you're good to just use it normally on 2.7 or higher. Just don't delete the ReActPSN account because it will delete those activations on your normal account too

OK so will the activations show up on MY account or on the aa one, or do you mean I'll have 3 total? Mine, aa, and the dummy? Will I need to copy/paste from one to the other once ReactPSN has done it's deal?

you'll have 2 total accounts. 1 that you've been using with all your save files and that you can go on PSN with. Then you'll have the dummy PSN account that is used just for ReActPSN. The activations that you do for the dummy account will work on your regular account so you'll be able to play normally with the first one.

You were trying to get the Mass Effect 3 DLC? It doesn't have a popup for it, but I know that you get the assault rifle from a soldier standing in front of your drop ship. He blocks your way so you can't miss him and you get an email notification in-game later in the story about the other DLC. At first you'll think it didn't work, but it's in there

I'll be trying this over the weekend (if I can get away from the wife n kids for a few) I just want to make sure I fully understand this


I should have 2 accounts aa and mine
I need to log onto aa and sign up/in for PSN
Then I follow normal steps of copying rap files to usb
Then I run ReactPSN (following steps) from the aa account or mine?
I shouldn't have to copy/paste anything from exdata from one account to the other correct?

*a side note, The act_dat apparently came out of a ReactPSN mega pack of raps, I tried using that, and it DID change the aa account Nothing seemed to activate though and when I changed the name back to aa it won't change it again, now when I run it with R1 it creates act1_dat Not sure if this is useful/helpful at all but it does seem to half work when using that act_dat
