Hey. I just received True Blue dongle from lightake. I was wondering how can i check on a PC is my dongle 100% REAL? Or the only way to do this is disassemble the dongle? Is there any guide on how to do disassembly?

On PS3 i have KMEAW installed and few games installed when i upgrade firmware to TB-CFW all the games that were installed will be deleted or they stay on HDD? Will i be able to play all games on TB-CFW < 3.55 FW ?

all your games will be fine and will still work fine on tb firmware as for knowing if its real or not instal your tb v2 fw then instal the dongle update 2.7 and it will tell you if it is real or clone save taking it apart but coming from lightake it should be real

No need to take it apart really. Use your PS3 to determine if its real PC wont be able to read it, security reasons. On ps3 from XMB go to settings--- system settings-- system info if its reads true blue its original if it says clone, well its a clone.

However if you bought it from Lighttake you shouldnt be worried about it being a clone, the only thing to worry about is if it works or not. A very small percentage of TB dongles are dead on arrival.

All your old games will work unless they were 3.56 games, then you might have to reapply the fixed 3.55 eboot, like MK9 or if a game like LA Noire or Brink might have to reapply 1.01 patches that are 3.55 not 3.60, might have to reapply fix to uncharted 3 as well.

Thanks for your answer. I will not able to test my dongle for a few days cuz my PS3 is in other home, but when i plug in dongle to my PC it shows that installs some drives and when it completes its not showing in "My Computer" but the light on a dongle is RED. Does that means dongle is working ?

The dongle isn't for use with PC or MAC, its only for the PS3. The red means its receiving power from the USB port. You'll have to wait until you have access to your PS3 to see if it actually works, dont mess with it on PC or MAC that can only serve to mess it up. When you test on PS3, you'll have to install True Blue CFW v2 first (TrueBlue 3.55 CFW v2), if it fails to install, install it from recovery mode. Take everything out of ps3 USB ports (even the dongle), put 2.7 dongle update (TrueBlue Dongle Update v2.7) on thumb drive or external hd plug into ps3, install it from "install pkg files" on XMB menu under game, run the dongle update it makes in XMB game category and wait for it to read "insert dongle" then you plug the dongle in (nothing else should be plugged into ps3 usb ports), it'll install the 2.7 update onto the dongle and reset. If the dongle light turns green after it reboots to XMB then the dongle is working.

ok. One last question. Do i need to install 3.55 OFW if by any chance i got installed some 3.73 spoofed version ? And if my dongle is on FW 2.5 or 2.6 i need to install every FW or i good installing last one that is 2.7 ?

EDIT: Ok. I updated my dongle to 2.7 it came with 2.62. Tested six games and every one of them worked. So this thread can be closed
