AFAIK, the only way is by opening the thing.
All you need is a pliers, like this one:
To take it apart just position your pliers on orange area, do not apply too much force or you'll crack it or deform the plastic inside USB metal body. I deformed mine a bit (too much force) but isn't bad at all.
Once you applied some force on that area, take it out on same direction of red arrow.
That's it, you will see a simple plastic there is no glue, nothing, you can just opening and have access to PCB and all the rest.
To assembler it again, just do the same in inverse way.
To be safer, I recommend to be grounded to avoid any possible electrostatic discharge (ESD) to the components.
