Guys My True Blue Dongle Comes On Monday I have a Question Reuarding My Other Backups Other Than The TB Games

For example you know the 3.55 backups that work on KMEAW?
Will they work just as the same on True Blue???
But will the games work fine? Once I download to TB CFW

Keep in mind I am on OFW 3.55 and I have not installed a CFW on my PS3 I just want to Install TB CFW and that is it for me. I just want a quick and easy install.

Everything will work the same as always. Older games that need a patch will still work with whatever patch they require. Older games do not need TB specific patches to work.

For example:

The Battlefield 3 fix will still work even if you use TB custom firmware. Same as Uncharted 3, Alice Madness, etc.


You actually do lose one feature with True Blue firmware. You will not be able to play backups of PS1 games. I think that is the only feature I lost when switching.

all should would work the same with a few exceptions:

BD Mirror (select+X) games now work from either internal or external and BD Mirror no long needs selected
Split file cache game need to be move to internal
Some games that required disc now work disc-less (but your best compatibility is with disc)

Thanks guys... 1 more question I do find myself still owning PS1 games (original disks) will they play as well?

One more thing.... the TB games do they still go in the GAMEZ folder right?

Okay... so lets just say I take out the dongle (It says that it acts like OFW 3.55 once taken out) If I want to buy a Cobra Dongle down the road will that work?

Original PS1 games will work from your XMB.

multiMAN games go in the "GAMES" folder

You will need to install a different firmware if you wish to use Cobra. Acting like OFW is not same as being OFW.

same folder that back up manager reads from now (as you'll still be using the same manager)

no Cobra would require you to change FW every time you want to use it (it's what I do, check out my sig)

So how would I go about changing my FW to enable my PS3 for the cobra USB dongle because I am seriously thinking about getting one really soon.

same as you change it now recovery mode/ XMB whichever (there is a easier HDD method switch if it works for you/ won't for me)

TB games buggy not sure, Jay-Jay has a "stickied" compatibility thread in the TB section of this site (check it out) should tell you (also a good place for d/ling the patches is PS3SceneFiles)
