Dragons Dogma 1.01 TB Patch and PSN
Dragons Dogma 1.01 TB Patch and PSN –
So I was wondering, can I just install patch, copy TB eboot cracks to patch folder and play this online? I have the PSN function working but clearly it wants game to be 1.01 for that to work right.
short answer - no. long answer involves 3.60+ keys, additional content in the new patches you won't have access to, server address changes, PARAM.SFO higher than what the patch is so it's not even gonna load from the patch, if you fix the PARAM, you'll just get kicked to the xmb.......there's a lot more reasons it won't work but I think you see there's a lot of problems with using updates with TB games
YUP, it works My game now thinks its 1.01 and pawns work online, at least it seems so far.
I'm more inclined to believe BahumatLord on this, but do you really have it working online? Was the TB release of this game from the latest patch, or has there been a required update since?

I don't want to say BS until he says exactly what he's done, but that's kind of what I'm leaning towards just from attempting on multiple games like Final Fantasy XIII-2 and Arkham City to get all the DLC working.
I've got the game and I can check very easily what he's done. I just want to replicate it exactly
Yeah, I'm just gonna go ahead and call BS. I booted the game without any updates and I can see the pawn community. All that is is a web page. I haven't played the game to see what actual online content is available, but I'm signed in just using the TB patch. Like I said, the TB patch version number is higher than anything the game would have updated to. Still doesn't give you any added content from the patch
BahumatLord sorry for aggressive PM, for some reason I thought you closed this thread.
So instructions install 101, overwrite the eboot with tb on the game 30720 usrdir folder. You know the one.,
You won't get DLC, you won't get some of the speed-up improvements but online play with pawns both ways works. I played 6 hours last night with other peoples pawns, and someone used mine also.
Why would I close your thread? I'm not trying to be a dick here but please don't send me a message like that again. I wasn't trying to be rude. I just think you're getting a false positive. Trust me when I tell you I've done this once or twice
Check the PARAM.SFO of the game with TB patch. It should say 50.00. Anyway it's higher than the 1.01 game update. Since it's higher it will load all data from the disc backup and not even look at the update data in /game/*GAMEID*. The PS3 will always load the one with the higher version.
The update pkg is about 9 megs which is about the size of just an eboot so if you take the patched TB eboot and overwrite the one in the update you've overwritten probably everything in the update.
Loading just the game with the TB patch and no update allows you to do the whole pawn thing. I don't know what the update was supposed to change but from the look of the file it was probably just some glitch fixes and nothing was added. You shouldn't even have to install the update if you applied the TB patch correctly
If anybody wants to check it out for themselves here's the link for the update file
Edit: if you really want to check if your update method did anything at all, then change the version in the game backup's PARAM.SFO to 1.00 and leave the update as 1.01 with the copied eboot. You may have to delete any installed game data and do the data install again
Well you get a prompt on loading of your game with news and such. In that their is lists of DLC and additions, however it looks like some of it should be accessible even if you have older eboot as it functions through the Rift? Have not looked around for the new content yet as too new to game but it may very well exist as the update files are there and may be independent of eboot.
PS. Yes sorry about the PM, it was early morning and cold as hell here so I sort of wasn't thinking clearly LOL.
I'll check out the update in a couple hours when I turn my PS3 on. If you've got yours on right now, then delete your installed game data, install just the update without loading the game and navigate to dev_hdd0/game/BLES01356/USRDIR in multiMAN's file manager and look at what files it installed. If it's just an eboot and maybe a file or two with sprx extension then using the update isn't going to do any good at all.
The update link is up if anybody else cares to try before I get to it
