I am on the brink of buying a TB dongle for my son but just had a couple questions before I do so. I read the TB F.A.Q. thread but didnt' find the answers to the questions I have so I thought I'd ask them here. I've got a Jailbroken PS3 so i'm not a total noob about this stuff.

    1) With the True Blue custom firmware, can I play all of the Duplex PSN releases that came out about a year ago on it?

    2) Will it boot games off of an EXTERNAL harddrive like the my current 3.41 jailbreak does, or do I have to copy the games to my internal HDD?

    3) If I do have to put them on my internal drive, what is the fastest way of putting them there other than copying them directly off of my original disks? I use FTP currently for some games that won't pay off external but it takes a while to upload them through my home network.

4)Can I burn my backups to regular Blue-Ray disks and play them on the TB or do I still need the special Blue Ray disks that they were selling before?

Thank you for reading this, I did my best too look up the answers for these questions. I've been wondering the same things since the TB came out but haven't come across the answers in all that time so now that I am going to get one I thought I'd ask.

    1. Yes
    2. Yes
    3. The fastest way is the disc ofcourse or a NTFS formatted HD idk same thing
    4. No you cant. You need special TB disks for some games (maybe 4 or 5) but Batman and some airplane game already have an unofficial patch for it.

FYI best place to buy is from Modchipcentral

Thanks for the quick reply and for answering all my questions. I really appreciate that.

I've been a big customer of Modchipcentral for a while now and buy all of my modding supplies from them. Never had a problem that they didn't take care of right away.

Trust me go for it bro. I don't really use my TB that often and honestly I haven't really played any newer games on it since that last Street Fighter X Tekken game. But b4 I log off for work in the morning, You might as well get it TB and there new team mates released some killer games with the 2.7 update. Look at the new TB thread trust me it is 60 bucks well spent. I am more of an Online guy so I barely touch my TB BUT if you don't care about online gaming at all TB is for you.

Here's a compatibility list to show you what games are available and the best way to play them. Like Goku1992 said there's only a few that need discs and they are marked in this thread. The rest you would play just like you have always done but just with the TB inserted.

Bahahahah some airplane game. It's called Ace Combat Assault Horizon BTW. Yeah I dont own it either I usually hate "airplane games". Also Chilen if you do copy a lot (or any) games from original disc with true blue CFW take the dongle out first then copy them, then turn off PS3 put dongle back in to play them.

To clarify, he meant yes, they will boot off external. Think you got that, but just making sure.

Thanks for all the info. It's exactly what I was looking for. After we jailbroke my sons PS3 we decided to get him a second PS3 for his birthday so that he can play online against his friends still. So it was always just a question of upgrading his Jailbroken PS3 or not. I was debating to go with just 3.55 CFW or go with a True Blue. That's why I was curious about the Duplex PSN releases. Also being able to play games off an External drive is what definately swayed my decision on going with the TB. I've already been collecting all of the TB eboot patches since they started coming out, so I'm ready to go. I'm just going to download all the necessary files for the TB now and one I'm sure I can get them all I'm going to order my TB. That wil, be my project for today.

So thanks for all the replies. You are all a huge help.

All the old 3.55 games will work except ones running off external with split files (4GB+ file) TB CFW dongle doesnt support that, so you'll have to run them internal. And 3.56 games like Mortal Kombat and COD Black ops need a 3.56 to 3.55 patch to work on TB CFW

All my games with 4GB+ files I keep backed up on my PC and than when my son wants to play them I FTP them to the internal drive of the PC. It takes a good amount of time but it works so I never really tried splitting any files so I could play them on external. So this won't really be affecting me much.

I'm actually dying to get my TB now, I got all the files I needed today and I'm ready to go but don't want to get it too soon. My son finishes school in a month so I'll give it to him then.
