The reason the 2.6 works for some people but not others is because of vanilla firmware, non-vanilla firmware install wont work.
If anybody needs the 2.51 update (I just looked at the TB site and it wasnt there anymore) so a stable site to get it is

NEWS UPDATE:
Update has been removed until more testing can be completed on all models of PS3 and different HDD setups. Problem should be fix within 24 hours.
Suggest to stay at 2.5 for now. -- 2.51 is internal version not released, only on some newer PCBoard models from the factory, not designed for older dongles.
Newer eboots are coming soon, at that time the update and them should be tested together.
Due to some changes that Sony has done with 4.11, it is best to uninstall first, all forms of ReactPSN, Spoofer or other tricks and allow the TB dongle to do the work for you with this update.
I did not update(Obviously since I read about all the issues with the new update) to 2.6..but mine came with 2.51 so when the new update is released I SHOULD have no issues updating it right?
Theoretically, thats why there fixing it. Even if you do for some reason i put up link in my last post to download 2.51 for users who had that factory installed on their dongle. So if for whatever reeason it doesnt work get 2.51, but the problems lies within the new sony 4.11 firmware architecture not the dongle updates itself, so when they get it to work for 2.5 dongles it should also work for 2.51
I managed to download the 2.6 update before it was pulled and updated with no issues... oh well
Are you sure about that? Do you have any PSN/DLC content? I couldn't use anything after updating. I had to go back to 2.5 and redo the activationsQuote:
