I think the issue is that this game's TB patch is the Japanese version. So the eboot and param.sfo files are the Japanese versions.
I haven't tested this game myself. I also would like to know more info about this game's TB patch and it's compatibility with both the Euro and USA versions. I also posted this inquiry at the very last pages of this topic: http://psx-scene.com/forums/f265/tru...-thread-99116/ (TrueBlue Game compatibility thread)
If you have your PS3 offline and deleted the UPDATE folder in the game's directory, you should be safe.. I doubt it can update your firmware. I know it's difficult to read Japanese when you don't have a clue. I can understand your frustration and your worry. But disconnect the PS3 off your network--change the IP address or block it from your router or delete your network key from the PS3.
Also in the TB compatibility chart it states it requires a mandatory game data installation of: (maybe you are confusing this with a firmware update)?

Update:
I decided to merge these two topics, since they are about the same issue.
Also I googled the problem.. here is a copy/paste: (seems that the Euro is confirmed working, but you must rename a folder in order to work correctly):
Sorry.. realized it was for version 4 and not 5.. I'll keep on looking...

If you check the TB game compatibility chart in our TB forum, you will see that the game is only marked to work with the Japanese version of this game. I think we will have to wait for TB to patch the UK and USA version.
