Do both firmwares (Kmeaw and TB) support PSN games? What about preventing accidentally PS3 updates?
Kmeaw is more stable and is free for 3.56 games you have to mod the eboot however for them to work PSN games work. To prevent updates on Kmeaw dont connect your ps3 to net and turn off automatic updates in XMB (you can't get on PSN anyway) You can use updates up to 3.55 on all games and some 3.60 games have 3.55 updates which will make the game work on Kmeaw as long as the update is installed e.g; LA Noire and Brink. You must manually get updates on PC/MAC from websites such as ps3brewology and damox.net not via the ps3
TrueBlue costs around 60 bucks, need special PARADOX eboots you download, they are released sporadically and release whatever they feel like. Does play currently 123 3.60+ games including 22 japanese games. Compatibility is very good and BDMIRROR, DIRECTBOOT options are no longer needed like in KMeaw to get some games to work. TB rebug is not officially supported and has worse compatibility after TB CFW v2 was released Rebug fails to work with trueblue, you need TB CFW v2 to play the newest games.
TrueBlue eboots come with a PARAM.SFO that is edited to make the game not update. Unlike KMeaw however official sony updates wont work, you have to use a PARADOX update and so far only SKyrim has one. You can play most PSN games on TB although some require more effort.
