[RUMOR] 'True Blue' clone Appears as JB-King

On December 16th, 2011 someone in China grabbed a domain called 'JB-King.com' and about 2 days later, put up a 'website' claiming the same EARLY features of the 'True Blue', but just an email contact, with pictures and specs., no information on 'resellers' and no 'downloads', and the specs. Listed are copied word for word from the EARLY 'True Blue' features the version that only play PS3 v3.6+ games from BD-R disc, not from the HDD!

Now I'm labeling this as 'RUMOR' as it could be a clever FAKE, the pictures attached look just like the big PS3-GO (cheat device) with it being re-labelled as 'JB-King', plus I found the 'website' loading a lot of ASP code, I had to reboot my PC after viewing the site, so be warned.

I would not trust this company, until it ships out real devices that have been personally tested by PS3 users, until then it is RUMOR!

JB-King introduction:

• Booting of games from v3.6+ (up to v3.73) from special BD-R discs available from official resellers
• Runs games up to v3.56 from HDD in conjunction with ´backup managers´
• Does not require the Power/Eject trick
• Custom v3.55 Dongle firmware behaves like OFW when ´JB-King´ is not inserted
• Manufactured from highest grade components and Actel based
• Durable and high quality plastic case design
• Tough and durable plastic packaging
• Further features to be added as they are developed
• Supports Fat and Slim consoles currently running any firmware up to v3.55
• And any PS3 console which can be downgraded from v3.6+ to v3.55 (NOTE: Requires other tools, ´JB-King´ currently can’t downgrade a Console)
• Supports all regions of consoles
• Supports all regions of ISO´s to be released

Your PC must really be something if you had to reboot it after viewing that site... had to be a coincidence.
The site took something like 30 sec to load but there's probably no malicious code.

yes, I also didn't see any weird code on the site. perhaps I got my browser water-tight as a frog's rear end? lol. Perhaps Griffin sees the code on his display in the likes of the Matrix? Perhaps there more there than we could tell? Which colored pill would you take if you had the choice??

But what I am really tripping out on is how quickly some other company decided to clone the TB dongle! Wow! I guess another dongle war in the making?

Is it just me or does this feature list look pretty much identical to the original feature list of the True Blue Dongle? Specifically "Booting of games from v3.6+ (up to v3.73) from special BD-R discs available from official resellers"

I wonder if they will update it to eventually say that their team has been working round the clock and has managed to allow booting of those game without the need for the special BD-R discs. Just like Team True Blue has done.

PS3 Developer CrashSerious brought to my attention via Twitter and IRC, that a tool on JB-Kings download page is riddled with viruses, the tool in question is:
MD5 verify tool—-verify MD5 CODE

Info on Virus:

FlySky.AD. is a virus that also has the characteristics of a worm.
FlySky.AD. gets into a computer via e-mail, the Internet, floppy disks, etc, and it spreads by inserting its code in other files and programs. Its effects can range from simply annoying to destructive.
Furthermore, due to its worm characteristics, FlySky.AD. also spreads by sending out copies of itself. Its main objective is to collapse computers and networks, preventing users from working with the affected computer.

It uses stealth techniques to avoid being detected by the user:

It uses techniques included in its code to hide itself while it is active.
FlySky.AD. uses the following propagation or distribution methods:
Exploiting vulnerabilities with the intervention of the user: exploiting vulnerabilities in file formats or applications. To exploit them successfully it needs the intervention of the user: opening files, viewing malicious web pages, reading emails, etc.
Computer networks (mapped drives): it creates copies of itself in mapped drives.
Computer networks (shared resources): it creates copies of itself in shared network resources to which it has access.

This is no longer a RUMOR and that virus threat is gone. So you can buy the JBKing from the same places as TrueBlue, problem is no one has really given a good testing yet. Also, it uses TB updates but TB blocked them w 2.4 update so JBKing cant play upcoming games.

I would stick with TrueBlue for now until JBking delivers something like games TrueBlue doesnt have available as eboots.
