What do the new hacks mean for downgrading? –
As I posted before I received a 3001 model as a replacement for my YLOD 3.55 CFW Phat from Sony. I'm running 4.25 OFW and really have been missing my CFW
I know I currently have no way of downgrading, but what do the latest hacks/LV0 key releases mean for downgrading the newer slims? I've done plenty of searching but I can't really find an answer. My previous understand was that the new models have LV0 keys that are NOT console specific so this hack really doesn't mean anything? Hopefully I'm wrong?
If someone could explain this to me it would be great.
You can always downgrade with E3 flasher or Progskeet.
No, I can't. The console had 3.65+ from the factory.

heres how it works. on 3.56+ OFW you cant just use these cfw pups because we dont have the keys to sign our own. only sony has those keys.
the way pups are installed on CFW is because these checks are patched. Thats why you must downgrade to 3.55CFW,then you can install 4.30 CFW.
So does this mean there will never be CFW for 3.56+ OFW? NOPE. Since we have the lv0 keys, what this means is,we can now decrypt all the latest firmwares, and we can study the code. All there needs to be done is find an exploit in the newest firmware, like 4.30,and we can go through that exploit to install CFW.
Basically, someone has to find an exploit in the newest firmware that gives us access to the system,so we can flash anything and do anything with it. I'm sure many of the ps3 guys are already on it.
Sony has patched most of the exploits and someone really intelligent will have to pull a rabbit out of a hat to find an exploitable install. As for me, my E3 is on the way.
