Graf has somthing to exit service mode (not Lv2diag.self) but it is for Linux (running on your Ps3)
My point is:
- the dongle has not been added to the black list
- The Lv2diag.self (both of them) have been added to the blacklist
- We cannot sign 3.56 anything without priv keys that we may never see (including Lv2diag.self)
The soloution is to modify the dongle that put you there, since it is still accepted, to then kick you out.
Quote from Graf:
4th step – Checking if “Product Mode” is enabled
The returned value shouldn’t be 0xff.
# ps3dm_um /dev/ps3dmproxy read_eprom 0x48C07
5th step – Disabling “Product Mode”
# ps3dm_um /dev/ps3dmproxy write_eprom 0x48C07 0xff
Do not ask me how to do it.. I am hardware, not software.
Interesting... like you said though we can't sign anything and I still think this will be the determinant (I realize how the dongle works I just don't have much faith in it =/). I could be wrong and your theory of a modified dongle could work. If it does that person would probably be able to make a downgrade dongle for any FW which would be really cool.
When the service mode dongle is used, it's sets the "factory bit" to something (anything other then 0xFF). So in theory, all we have to do is tell it to set it to 0xFF instead.
anybody has the knowledge to do this? :P
gave up the ghost on mine!
ended up phoning sony and blagging there 3.56 update corrupted my firmeware and that it was bang out of order.
a few details later they had organised a delivery and collection service to my work .
next day it came and i now have a refurbed 80gb console and i am pleased as punch..........................................it came with 3.36 firmware on it lol
One more stuck in service/factory mode........grrrrrrrrr....
Does anyone has any idea how long is gone take to find a solution?? Is it a matter of weeks, months or years??
Nope, no idea. When someone created a new lv2diag.self with keys that haven't been revoked, then you can get out. Till then, it's a waiting game.
if anyone have any think test i got ps3 stuck on 3.56 i frre to help Brothers
quick idea on this, if one were to put a new hard drive into the ps3 and go into service mode on 3.56 and got stuck there, would putting your original drive back in help? or would you still be stuck on service mode? not sure where the values are altered for service mode, whether its system or hdd...
I have a spare hdd that i'm fudging around with, but don't wanna risk going into service mode if i can't come back with the original hdd.
I'm gonna guess this is a no, but if anyone can verify otherwise would be helpful
