Can you downgrade your PS3 to a firmware version it never had installed in the first place? Mine came with 3.40 from factory and I'd like to go to 3.41.
You can downgrade to 3.41(3. 56) yes. But to get out of 3.41(3. 56) you'll need to do a downgrade to 3.40ofw using the Lv2diag.self File1 from the DGR.rar file. Only after you came out of Factory Service mode then back into Factory Service mode.

and i just DG it sucessfuly.
BTW dont try at 3:50 came from box it will brick for sure no doubt.
So again, what makes this method work? How it bypasses the 3.55 security for downgrading? Code in lv2diag? Or in the downgrade hex?
EDIT: Ok as i see its just a change of CoreOS to say three.fiftysix so it spoofs the 3.55 that it's not a downgrade. Is that the same thing the spoofed payloads are patching?

Can't handle more cheese
Works pretty much the same way the old downgrade did, but since Sony blocked the old way to go down we tell the system it's going up to put it in the most simple terms.

Te PS3 seems not recognize both the Lv2diag.self. In fact when i insert the USB drive with PS3UPDAT.PUP and Lv2diag.self (file 1) the ps3 doesn't start the procedure and boot the factory mode.
I tryed also to kick out the console with the second self but no way.. the ps3 remains in that mode.
So now i'm stuck in factory mode!!! somebody help me pls!!

If it came with 3.50 stock, I'd really consider not doing it. The chance of bricking it is pretty high.
