why does everyone insist this isnt working on slim models?

Only PS3 Slim 3.50 out of the box.

I just tried this on an 80gb Back Compatible with the geo 3.55fw and it was a success. Downgrading to 3.15 as we speak then up to 3.41 official.

Here is a patched 3.41 that allows you to downgrade Multiupload.com - upload your files to multiple file hosting sites! I patched the info0 to 356, and I also used Warrens method to bypass the br drive during the update. I have tested this on both of my PS3's and havent run into any problems.

nice it worked downgraded from 3.55 geohot to 3.41 no problem

Is there a way i can find out if it came with 3.5? I got it around christmas and honestly don't remember what it was.

Requirement: Dongle flashed with PSGrade HEX (Downgrading Hex)

Instructions: (lifted from PSGroove with few modifications)

DO NOT ATTEMPT TO DOWNGRADE A PS3 SLIM USING THIS METHOD! YOU WILL BRICK. (Note: Some have had success with Slims)

I accept no responsibility for anything that may occur to your PS3 after following any of these directions. Do so at your own risk. This has been tested and works on a launch model PS3 Fat.

I highly recommend you back up your flash to prevent loss of blu-ray playback.

NOTE:: You must downgrade from 3.55 to 3.41 before downgrading to another firmware.

1) Fully power down the PS3 Fat (toggle the power switch)
2) Restore power to the PS3 Fat
3) Format a USB drive with the Fat32 filesystem
4) Copy the file from the "\FILE1" folder (Lv2diag.self) to the root of the USB drive
5) Copy PS3UPDAT.PUP to the root of the USB drive
6) Insert your payload device with PSGrade into the USB port closest to the Blu-Ray drive. Power on the PS3.
7) The PS3 should start up in service mode. Power it down with a controller.
8) Remove your payload device, and insert the USB drive into the same port. Power on the PS3
9) The PS3 will downgrade, and then automatically turn itself off. Nothing will appear on your TV.
10) Power your PS3 back on, and you should still be in service mode. From here, you can now downgrade to earlier firmwares.

To return your PS3 to normal retail functions from Step 10:
A) Shut down your PS3 using the controller.
B) Repeat above steps 3-4 using the Lv2diag.self from the "\FILE2" folder instead. 
C) Repeat step 8 from above

ok some of you dont understand the downgrade bluray playback shit. so let me sort of explain in noob terms for you.

i see mention of Inception, Inception is MKB version 19 if you have played any other mkbv19 disc inception will not help you recover bluray it will HAVE to be that other disc! the ps3 updates the MKb version ONCE. also mkbv20 and 21 is out if you happened to play one of those your gonna have to play that to recover bluray.

ONLY phats with 256mb nand (cech a through to g/h consoles) loose bluray. NOT SLIMS or small nand consoles since the drls are stored on the hdd not the nand.

this info should be edited if you wish and added to the main page so people understand. please quote it so others can see it on eachm page befpre we end up with more "OH NOES i lost my bluray playback."
