I'm currently on 3.55 WininkokoKS V2 CFW but i'm not satisfied.
Then i want to downgrade from 3.55 CFW Wininkoko to 3.41 OFW, but my ps3key downgrader is prepared for 3.50 OFW downgrades.
Anyone try to do it?
I think the best/secure way to downgrade is:
Backup via FTP all savegame data to PC
3.55 CFW Wininkoko to 3.55 OFW
Try PS3KEY downgrader to 3.41 OFW
Correct me if i'm wrong!
Your dongle will be fine as it is, you just use different files.
I read the entire post, but i see an report of get stuck in the Factory Mode using an PS3KEY to downgrade... see the link above
You only get stuck if you're on 3.56, 3.55 will be fine.
I went into service mode with TI-84 and i put the modified update and lv2 file 1 service in the root of an empty hard drive fat32. but when i turn on my ps3 it goes straight to xmb and doesnt downgrade but still in service mode and i cant get out of service mode either. tried two different hard drives. anyone else having this problem? btw im on 3.55
The ports are IMPORTANT. Once in service mode, the PS3 only reads the lv2diag.self from the USB port closest to the optical drive slot (opposite of the one you inserted the jig into). This has been explianed clearly in the directions and in many, many posts here.
This is why you should read the directions, once, twice... maybe three times, understanding it COMPLETELY before trying something out.
On a side note: Why are people still trying to downgrade 3.55? It's a simple matter to go into recovery mode and flash kmeaw's 3.55 CFW (or Waninkoko's "V2"). Far greater benefits over using 3.41 and the risks involved with downgrading from 3.55
i already gone the same path so i can tell you what to do. so if you want to downgrade from waninkoko v2 to 3.41 you need to:
1.downgrade with the 3.55 downgrade files (pup+self) but no need for the 2nd self afterwards to exit servicemode.
2.downgrade again but with 3.41 downgrade files (yes you HAVE to flash the modified pup from psjb before you can flash the official 3.41 otherwise the update fails at blueray revokation.)
3.now use any of the 2nd selfs to exit servicemode.
4.do system update through xmb with official fw and afterwards maybe hermes fw.
to prevent any data loss i would recommend to swap the hdd to dg and after that put it back in and do a system update through recovery menu. all the account data, trophies, backups etc should still be there. only psn title licenses you must backup.
