my old fat ps3 has a busted blu-ray so I am trying to install the rebug rex version to spoof a disc using a thumb drive. I had installed the newest Rogero cfw before finding the rebug rex cfw so I am under the impression I will need to get back to 3.55 then load the rex afterwards.

the rebug site has the 999 downgrader, but having never downgraded, and not being completely well versed in ,downgrades, QA flags, etc, I dont want to do something improperly and brick this thang. here is how i currently see the process...

System update the 999 downgrader
get QA enabled
system update to rebug 3.55.2 rex
system update to rebug 4.21.1 rex

OR
is it much easier than that? here are the directions for 4.21 rex:
Code:
From XMB install REBUG 4.21.1 REX EDITION over any 3.55 OFW/CFW/MFW or the same or lower firmware version CFW with spkg sig check patched or any firmware version CFW with spkg sig check patched and QA enabled
i am not familiar with the "spkg sig check patched" part of that, but it would seem if I got there, i could avoid the downgrading altogether?

can anyone enlighten me?

thanks
