So if you can use CFW on consoles with factory 3.56 with a flasher...shouldn't consoles stuck on 3.56 with older factory FW would be able to use CFW without a flasher? Sorry for my bad english

More specifically, we need the private keys to the PS3 in order to sign a CFW to look like it's from Sony, and those keys ARE NOT stored in the PS3 at all. So no, you will need a hardware flasher.

but how is the system then checking if the pup is legitimately signed?
