problems with downgrade

in need of a bit of help i have a fat ps3 with me that im trying to downgrade to remarry the bluray drive and im having loads of problems

im trying to downgrade using the qa downgrade method but that seems to not want to work

iv downloaded and installed the special pup which went fine

i then installed the qa pkg file but when i run it it just gives me a black screen.

i then went and tried the qa toggle from rebug which ends up in the same just a black screen

i also tried to install the factory service mode tool which also just hangs at a black screen.

im at the end of my tether with this one it just seems as if it doesnt want to work

to top it off i cant find any of the ipod touch files for using that to get into service mode either

any help on any of this would be appriciated

quick sidenote at present the console is on 3.55 kmeaw fw

reeves1985, you'll need Glevland's QA_Extra flagging tool, allowing your console to be downgraded from recovery menu. Note that you'll have to install Rebug's CFWv2 OtherOS ++ for this to work properly (don't know why, extra flag just refuses to work properly under Kmeaw CFW). Still, you'll need some way to enter FSM rather than Crash's app - it won't work on 3.15 (tested). If you by any chanse got yourself a PSP - use it as well. Good luck.

i have found my ipod and got the service files and verified i can indeed get into service mode

i tried to downgrade via service mode but that hasnt been successfull i just keep getting the blinking green light semi brick which i can only get out of from recovery mode

so now im going to try the rebug fw and see if i can get anywhere

this ps3 just seems to be a nightmare from start to finish

quick update

i was actutally doing as you pointed out in your reply

the only thing that was different was i installed special PUP on top of kmeaw firmware all the rest was the same
im going to try with rebug as the base and see what happens

i have a feeling that this ps3 is just not going to downgrade at all
