basically i bought a new 3003B model but my mate will swop with me for free, is this model downgradable with an E3 flasher?
Some places say they can't downgrade, some say they come with 3.61 firmware etc etc etc.

On this site however it says:

    "CECH 2503B - 320Gb SLIM - FIRMWARE 3.41 * "
    ?
    can't posts links.

    "#1: 3.55 Downgrade? Yes! Author: Quake, PostPosted: 01-13-2011 11:23

Over at the PsX-Scene forums, I and others have been testing out a Downgrade 3.41(3.56) PUP file. I can report back that it's possible for most but not for some. If you're on a stock 3.55 out of the box or even a 3.50 out of the box then this CAN and or WILL Brick you PS3 system. You might also loose your Blue-Ray Movie play back. You might Also loose your User data(Save Data, Game Data, Ext. )

    PS3's tested on: CONFIRMED WORKING

if it is a cech2503b with a date code of 7/2010 or 12/2010 then it sure can be downgraded.

if it has the date code 4/2011 then your out of luck.

    here's a link for a reference.

    http://www.ps3devwiki.com/index.php?title=SKU_Models

just hope he was looking for a 7/2010 or 12/2010 model, but if he purchased it brand new, 6 months ago, then he probly didnt check the date code as they are on the ps3 itself and not the box, just hope he actually found a brand new ps3 with a date code (i meant manufactuer date) of 7/2010 or 12/2010.

    oh the irony....

so your saying the last model made that can downgrade with E3 or progskeet is 8D?

why does ps3devwiki say this then? i probly just am missing something, maybe you can shed some light my way.

    downgrade-sku-models-date-codes-ps3-dev-wiki.png

and 1A is 2011 in the first quarter (Jan, Feb, Mar) and only some models of this date code (1A) are downgradable.

maybe thats just referring to progskeet tho.

if the datecode for the last downgradable console is 8D then the last downgradable console would be a CECHP (fat model). maybe i am just reading the wiki wrong tho.

please, by all means, tell me im wrong...

Cheers, getting him to look when he wakes up i quote "SWOPPING WITH A FRIEND" i dont live with him lol.

Curious if this is the case and it isn't downgradeable does that mean not downgradable to 3.55? or just 100% not downgradable?

"just hope he isnt an idiot, and was looking for a 7/2010 or 12/2010 model,"

Its not a case of if hes an idiot or not, he wasn't looking for jailbreakable models not exactly his fault
