Look at the manufacturing date on the bottom of your ps3. If it's 2011 and up then it can't be downgraded. If it's 2010 and below then it can.

Specifically, if it was made after February 2011, then it can't be downgraded.

it had 3.55 at first when i bought it the date code was 0d
