Flasher tool.. is it worth it?
Flasher tool.. is it worth it? –

Hi all. I'm on ofw 4.25
For the moment it sucks as the only way to go on any cfw is to downgrade with the help of a fasher.
I was just wondering if at this point it is worth while to go ahead and buy one of those for more or less the price of a second hand ps3 lol. I'm a little cheep I know but still....
now that we have cfw 4.+ out people are saying its just a matter of time before there is a new none flasher method to come out.
At this point im just wondering how realistic this outlook is? I know that as of today we still can't. Should I just hang tight til a fix will most probably come out later this year. Or is this still a long shot and ways to go before we can do this?
What are your thoughts? Id love to hear em.

It's not 'just a matter of time' before there is a CFW that can be installed over OFW without a flasher. This will likely never happen.

me would like very much you to answer my thread jacking question...
me want to know if you think there might ever be a way to downgrade (with tools equipment like prog skeet, e3 flasher ect. or what ever) ps3 consoles to 3.55, that were manufactured with ofw above 3.55

you can "downgrade" direct to rogero4.30v2 cfw if your minver is 3.56.
aslong as you have a mtldr1 console you can "downgrade" to rogero4.30v2
if you have a mtldr2 console then your stuck

Please elaborate. - you can "downgrade" direct to rogero4.30v2 cfw if your minver is 3.56.

if you have a mtldr2 console then your stuck
So if OFW Minversion is 3.4, but PS3 SLIM console has been upgrade to OFW 4.31, are you saying that you can install rogero4.30V2cfw? I was understanding that if OFW has been upgrade past 3.55 by any means there is no option to downgrade except with a E3 Flasher?
Thanks

you need a:-
E3 flasher
or
Teensy++
or
Progskeet (find v1.1 as v1.2 doesnt have a bitstreem update for nor yet)
you dump your nor
verify it
patch it
write it back
enter fsm
and with rogero4.30v2 on your usb instead of 3.55cfw
you "downgrade" to rogero4.30v2
exit fsm (rogero4.30 has the patches to allow exiting fsm)
no need to de-hash as its the same syscon hash so nothing to de-hash
but remember you can only do this if you have a mtldr1 console so if minvercheck says 3.56 then its ok if its 3.60 then you have mtldr2

me thoughts are...
me pay tons of money to a group to make other groups profiting from sales of downgrade hardware go out of business
me pay tons of money for no reason
me could get new ps3 hack like you talking about then make nothing
me say to you keep waiting
me gonna do this soon
